Our client ,Horyal Investments Holding Company Ltd has commenced the process to operationalize a leading new sugar factory at Atiak Uganda ,East Africa.The Factory, jointly owned by the Government of Republic of Uganda ,with annual production capacity(APC) 60,000 Tonnes of granular sugar , seeks to recruit competent persons for the following positions. Job Title : Chief Chemist Reports to : Process Manager Purpose: To carry out investigations through analysis, deviation during each production stage in order to achieve and improve the overall company sugar production targets. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. conductivity analysis and give timely feedbacks for corrective action.

2.Monitor subordinate staff and ensure that they are adhering to the approved factory laboratory technology standards.

3.Supervise the correct taking of samples for investigation and testing in the laboratory.

4.Conduct performance tests on new process equipment i.e. continuous vacuum pans and mono vertical crystallizers

5.Participate in analysis of all samples related to zero effluent

6.Regularly prepare analytical chemicals that are used in investigation work

2.Check on the balance of suppliers and customers and ensure their agreement with their statements.

3.Check all employees’ files and audit all labour procedures from the financial point of view.

4.Examine and verify both general and staff muster rolls to vouch the propriety of rates of salaries and wages including loans, advances, allowances and other deductions.

Experience and certification in Fire fighting, first aid is desirable.

Job Title : Mill Engineer Reports to : Works Manager/Factory Manager

Purpose: To ensure the smooth operation of all factory plant

and machinery throughout the shift, and maintain the engineering services for the production process in close coordination with the process supervisors and other section heads in the factory.

Required Education qualification: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent

from a reputable institution. A postgraduate qualification in sugar technology, and a certificate in supervisory management are of an added advantage.

Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years hands on experience

in a mechanical maintenance function of a large heavy process industry, four (4) years of which should have been in a sugar industry

Age: 30-45 Years

Specific Knowledge & Skills: In-depth knowledge in operation of various

machines used in the factory, use and application of lubricants, dismantling, overhauling and assembling of heavy machines, good analytical and quick fault detection skills, good supervisory skills, good training and teaching skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, report writing skills, machinery functioning principles and procedures, Comprehend and interpret technical documents and drawings, familiarity with technical maintenance engineering procedures.

Job Title : Sales Personnel Reports to : Sales/Marketing Manager

Purpose: To supervise and handle sales of all sugar items of

the sugar factory and to work towards maximizing these sales.

Required Education qualification: A Degree or Diploma in Commerce/Business

Administration/Business Statistics with Marketing option or a higher diploma in Marketing from a recognised university.

Experience: At least three (3) years working experience as a

sales executive in a reputable firm.

Age: 25 - 40 Years

Specific Knowledge & Skills: Thorough understanding of the sales process, good

negotiation acumen, considerable marketing skills, basic knowledge in Packaging, basic management and supervisory skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Title : Senior Clarifier Attendant Reports to : Process Supervisor

Purpose: To continuously remove juice from the clarifier and

pump it to the mud mixer, while monitoring the mud levels and ensuring sufficient quantities of bagasse.

Required Education qualification: A minimum of Secondary school Education with

good credits in science subjects.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years in factory operations in

the process house. Age: 25-30 Years

Specific Knowledge & Skills:-Machine operation skills, Good communication

skills, Good interpersonal skill.

Job Title : Senior Evaporator Reports to : Chief Chemist

Purpose: To utilize exhaust steam to Evaporate water from

clear juice to achieve an outlet Syrup Brix.

Required Education qualification: A minimum of Secondary School Education Experience: Not required, but would be of an added advantage

Age: 25 Years and above Specific Knowledge & Skills: Identifying the operation of various machines,

observing various laboratory chemicals, good communication skills and good Inter personal/Inter-relationship skills.

Job Title : Senior Pan-Incharge Reports to : Chief Chemist

Purpose: To plan, coordinate and supervise the production of

good quality commercial sugar by utilizing the available equipment efficiently and minimize sugar loss and other available materials within the budgeted costs.

Required Education qualification: A master craftsman certificate in sugar boiling

operations, or a first grade trade test certificate for pan boiler operators

Experience: In-depth knowledge in machinery functioning

principles and procedures, skills in overhauling and operations maintenance of pans, good analytical and quick fault detection skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, reading graphs and analyzing the final product, knowledge about the chemistry of sugar processing, reading and calibration of quality control parameters.

Age: 30 - 45 Years

Specific Knowledge & Skills: A minimum of five (5) years experience as a pan

boiler in a large industry

Job Title : Senior Sugar Bin Packaging Attendant

Reports to : Process Supervisor

Purpose: To maintain accurate weight standards and quality

control specifications in the sugarhouse and oversee the work performed by subordinates during the shift.

Required Education qualification: A minimum of Advanced Certificate of Education. Experience: Experience of not less than one (1) year in related

field. Age: 30-45 Years

Specific Knowledge & Skills: Machine operating skills, skills in supervisory

management, good leadership skills and good communication skills

Job Title : Stores Manager Reports to : General Manager

Purpose: Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a

store, making sure it runs smoothly and effectively. Develop strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, increase profitability, and create store policies and marketing programmes that will increase sales and grow the existing customer base. Maintain high store standards and conditions and foster a positive environment.

Required Education qualification: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business

Administration, Procurement and Logistics with Material Management/Supply Chain Management as the main option.

Experience: At least three (5) years working experience in a

similar role and in a reputable firm.

repair and maintenance of fleet in the workshop and the undertaking of any authorized modifications accordingly.

Required Education qualification: An advanced diploma in Mechanical or Agricultural or Automotive Engineering from a reputable institution or their equivalent Polytechnic Certificate plus a Certificate in Basic Supervisory Management.

Experience: At least seven (7) years hands on job experience as

a mechanic on the shop floor in a big motor vehicle garage.

Age: 30-40 years

Specific Knowledge & Skills: Demonstrable knowledge in mechanics, automotive
