JOB INTERVIEWA job interview is a one-on
one interview consisting of a conversation between a job applicant and a
representative of an employer which is conducted to assess whether the applicant
should be hired.
Job Interviews for most people are scary and intimidating. You can overcome your fears by
knowing how it works and how to prepare for it
• Here are some of the tips to follow before, during and after the interview:
Before the interview1. Research about the company.2. Prepare answers to possible questions3. Arrive early4. Dress appropriately
Do not overdo perfume, jewelry, and make up As much as possible- avoid LOUD colors
During the Interview1. Establish the relationship
Allows the interviewer to put you at ease Shake hands firmly
2. Act confident but natural3. Ask your own questions4. Conclude positively
Summarize your strongest qualifications Thank the interviewer
After the Interview
1. Makes notes on the interview Jot down key points regarding the interview
or the company– good and bad

2. What are your strongest and weakness and qualities?
Stress your strengths that are related to work For weakness- give a strength disguised as
weakness
1. What can you tell me about yourself? The prefect time to promote yourself Stick to professional and business related
strengths Avoid humorous reference and nonsense talks
3. Why should we hire you? The opportunity to sell you strong points Focus on your skills, academic preparations, and
relevant experiences
4. Where do you see yourself in ten years? Be ready to discuss a realistic plan that suit your
present age and situation
5. What two or three greatest accomplishments have given you the greatest satisfaction?
Choose accomplishments that you are proud of Focus not on the end results but on the
problem-solving skills
6. What are your interests outside work? Discuss some hobbies/ activities that you are
engaged into
7. What have been your most rewarding or disappointing work (or school) experience?
Concentrate on positive experiences, and avoid dwelling on negative and unfortunate topics
8. What have you read recently? What movies have you seen recently?
These kind of questions are icebreakers; they maybe given to explore your intellectual depth
9. What are your long- and short- term goals? Suggest attainable goals that you have thought of
before the interview
10. What questions do you have? Do not focus on salary or fringe benefits You can ask about your would-be work on a daily
basis or about training programs offered by the company to its employees
