Principal Responsibilities -1. To assist Residents with their daily needs - washing / bathing, shaving, dressing / undressing - upholding each individuals’ dignity, modesty and self respect at all times.

2. To assist Residents with toileting and continence products as necessary, being sympathetic to and understanding the feelings of each person as an individual realising that they may be embarrassed by these problems.

3. To ensure that each Resident is appropriately dressed and tidy as they would do for themselves if they were fully capable.

4. To aid Residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities - to help them with the use of any equipment as is necessary for their daily living.

5. To help in the promotion of the physical and mental activities for the Residents through interaction, conversation, escorting duties on day trips, assisting with hobbies / crafts, reading, writing and all other recreation activities.

6. To change beds, tidy rooms and do light cleaning, empty commodes and ensure they are properly cleaned and fresh. To keep Residents clothing clean and in a good state of repair, laundry as required.

Hunters Lodge. 7. To care for Residents who are ill or may be dying, with sympathy, compassion and understanding, ensuring their comfort, needs and dignity are met. To report to Senior Staff on the condition and progress of these Residents at all times.

8. To read and write daily reports, to give a clear handover when necessary, act as a Key worker if required.

9. To participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.

10. To prepare the dining room/trays for Residents meals, to serve/feed Residents as necessary, to monitor meal times ensuring that the Residents are coping. To report back any problems directly to the Care Manager/Senior Care Assistant. To prepare light meals as required, help with the clearing of the dining room/trays, assist with the washing up. Keep the common rooms clean and tidy.

11. Answer all bell calls promptly; carrying out whatever duty is necessary. Answer the door/telephone if required and greet visitors with courtesy.

12. To ensure that Senior Staff are made aware of any incident, complaint or event relating to the care and welfare of the Residents - such occurrences must be documented. Ensure that your actions will not create hazards or risks for others at Hunters Lodge.

13. To be responsible for the safety and care of all keys held in your possession pertaining to Hunters Lodge.

14. To undertake any other reasonable duty which may be requested of you.

15. To abide by all Policies and Procedures as set out in Hunters Lodge Staff Hand Books.
