About Me

✤ My name is Joanna, I am 22 years old. This is a picture of my family, my parents and my younger sister and I, from this summer at my college graduation.

✤ I studied at Penn State University for four years, and did part of my college in Dublin, Ireland as a study abroad or “Erasmus” program.

✤ Penn State University is in the northeast of the United States. It is a large public research institution made up of many colleges and also very well known for its football.

✤ I am from the state of Maryland, which is near the capitol of the United States, Washington D.C.... Maryland is on the East Coast and Chesapeake bay and is well-known for seafood, especially crabs.

Interests

✤ I enjoy traveling to cities and countries where I have never been before, meeting new people, and learning about other cultures.

✤ I like to go to see movies, read books and write in my spare time

✤ I also love keeping up with fashion and going to boutiques and vintage stores.

I am close with my sister, who is two years younger than me. She studies art at a University in Florida

✤ An industry I have some experience in is the retail/fashion industry, as I have worked in clothing stores and boutiques in the past.

✤ Sales and customer service is a large part of this business

✤ Marketing and merchandising clothes and accessories is also very important in this industry

Washington D.C. & Baltimore

✤ The federal government and many political and non-profit organizations are located in the capitol, Washington D.C.

✤ The Washington D.C. area and Baltimore, another large city in Maryland, are also hubs for science and medicine, including research and development, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, etc.

✤ A major industry of these cities and their suburbs is biotechnology. Many local biotech. Companies comprise this industry and are also in close proximity to the National Institute of Health (NIH, the government center for medical research)
