    CENTRE PROFILE

    Coopers Square Shopping Centre is the dominant scheme

    in Burton upon Trent and the retail focal point of the town

    centre. The scheme hosts more than 10.1 million shoppers

    each year and provides 37,750 sq m of covered retail space

    all on one level. The scheme consists of over 70 retailers and

    is anchored by Marks & Spencer, Primark, Bhs and Boots.

    Other retailers include Next, River Island, New Look, Republic

    and Bank.

    The scheme is also due to be extended by 125,000 sq ft,and it will be anchored by a 55,000 sq ft department store.

    DevelopmentProposals for the redevelopment of CoopersSquare Shopping Centre in the heart of BurtonTown Centre have been unveiled by the CentreManagement team.

    AproposedextensionhasbeensuggestedinpartoftheCooperssurfacecarparkandsomepropertieson Station Street. The extension will provide a newmodernfacadefrontingthecarpark.

    10doubleheightshopsareplannedandanewdepartment store to the Station Street end.

    Anewcarparkwillbeprovidedontheroof

    abovetheshops.Aliftandstairswillprovideaccessbetweenthisrooftopcarparkand street level.

    Thesurfacecarparkinfrontofthedevelopmentwill be upgraded with new landscaping consistentwith Burtons role as the Capital of the NationalForest.

    newcarparkentrance/exitonUnionStreet.AnewtaxirankisalsoproposedforStationStreet.
