System overviewThe IsoFraction™ LNG sampling systemcomprises a "gas" sampling system withan integrated vaporisation, stabilisationand control system to ensure controlof the phase change of the LNG to gaswith minimal lag.

The system includes take off points toenable validation and control processfor representivity of GC feed.

Once LNG has been vaporised it ismaintained above the dew point of thecomponent fractions. It then flowsthrough a conventional gas samplerwhere gas samples are extracted into afixed pressure (variable volume piston)sample collection receiver (CPC).

This sampling process providesimprovements over conventionalmethods due to the high volume of gasflowing through the system whichensures representivity of the gas bothsampled, and fed to a GC.

The LNG sampling system willnormally employ three gas samplerstied into a single process loop to allowthree independent but comparablesamples to be taken.In addition, provision is made to allow

the extraction of fixed volume samplesto conventional 500ml receivers at keyintervals (25/50/75/100 %) of thebatch.

These are "spot" samples and requirethe vessels to be purged to ensurerepresentivity of a specific point in thebatch.

The LNG sampling system is designedto enable pre-purging to estimatecontaminents to the sampling process.

3 samples are taken and held in theConstant Pressure Sample Receivers(CPC).The use of fixed pressurereceivers allows minimal atmosphericor cross batch contamination and alarge number of small samples tomaximise batch representivity.
