We would like to say Chi-Miigwetch to Ted White Sr. for sponsoring Cyrus for his spring hockey team. Cyrus made the AAA Bluewater Sharks Major Atom team. They played in 3 tour-naments and Cyrus' team won the Spring Show Case in Port Huron, they were finalist at their home tournament and they were consola-tion Champs at the London Rising Stars Tourna-ment. They had a very successful season and Cyrus was very proud to wear Ted's hockey number and also to have Ted come out and cheer him on at 2 of the 3 tournaments.
As Cyrus' parents we are very appreciative of the support that Cyrus has received from Ted and his family, you all are very encouraging and sup-portive of him and his hockey; you all are help-ing him become not only a great hockey player, but a strong role model for his younger siblings, to that we say Chi-Miigwetch!

Appreciation
To Taislyn Rogers-Snake Taislyn came in 1
st place for the 5 km run
in the YMCA-CHOK Bridge Race on June 1, 2014.
Taislyn was able to participate through a pro-gram - myTEAM TRIUMPH an athletic ride-along program created for children, teens, adults, and veterans with disabilities who would normally not be able to experience en-durance events such as triathlons or road rac-es. As part of a team, Taislyn was deemed Team Captain. Captain Taislyn was pushed by her angel. The person who assisted Taislyn is deemed an Angel. Taislyn’s angel was Angel, Wes Harding. Wes practiced throughout the spring and winter to be able to run and push his team Captain. Together, Captain Taislyn and Angel Wes Harding made a formidable team and came in triumphantly over the finish line with a time of 18:43:5. Taislyn’s family is forever grateful to Wes Har-ding and to myTeam Triumph who made rac-ing and winning a possibility for Taislyn!
Congratulations
Captain Taislyn & Angel Wes Harding

Aanii fellow community members!
My name is Celsie Bressette and I am proud to announce that I have returned to the position of the summer student employ-ment coordinator this year. I am currently preparing to enter my final year at West-ern University, where I will be completing my Bachelor of Science degree with a spe-cialization in biology. Once this is com-pleted I plan on pursuing further education with the hopes of one day entering the medical field.
I learned a lot throughout my time last summer, and I hope that I can continue to learn and use my new found knowledge this year. I plan to provide an exceptional summer employment experience for the youth of our community. It is thrilling for me to step into this new journey, bringing along my past experience and what I have learned from that into this summer as the summer student employment coordinator.
I am working out of the community centre and can be contacted with any questions or concerns there. I hope you all have a fun but safe summer and look forward to interacting with you and providing you with the best service I am capable of.
Chi-Miigwetch, Celsie Bressette

Community Legal Assistance Sarnia (CLAS) is pleased to announce that Legal Aid Ontario has approved continuing funding for the Baamsedaa program into 2016. Since 2011, Baamsedaa has assisted and supported clients living both on and off-reserve with legal issues. Community partners Bkejwanong, Kettle and Stony Point and the Sarnia-Lambton Native Friendship Cen-tre, along with several social service agencies provide facilities to ensure access to justice is available to members. Aamjiwnaang members can call CLAS to set-up necessary appoint-ments in the office or their home. Some legal issues that members of our communities can get assistance, or receive referrals, include, Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Ontario Works, Landlord and Tenant Board issues, Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, Criminal Injuries Compensation, Police complaints, and Human Rights. Commissioning docu-ments, providing government forms are also available. We also offer public legal education for groups who may want general information. CLAS services are free for those who qualify, alt-hough brief advice can be given without asking about your financial situation. CLAS does not deal with family or criminal matters, but can assist with referrals. CLAS congratulates the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic on their Baamsedaa modelled initia-tive, Yen:Tene. The Yen:Tene Aboriginal Initiative began in 2013 and provides services to Six Nations, New Credit, Hamilton and surrounding communities. Duplication of community en-gagement and participation is again showing that access to justice for Aboriginals is successful-ly being addressed in a culturally sensitive approach. You community members are proven leaders as you have willingly shared, assisted in identify-ing and confirmed access to justice concerns, gaps and barriers, and it is through that type of local consultation innovative approaches developed can be and are beneficial in accessing jus-tice.
