Jiangsu is located at the eastern coast of China, with a total area of 102,600 square kilometers and a population of 79.601 million. It comprises 13 municipalities, with its provincial capital in Nanjing.

In 2014, the provincial GDP reached RMB 6.5 trillion or over USD 1 trillion, up 8.7% over the previous year, accounting for 10.2% of the national GDP. The GDP per capita of Jiangsu exceeded RMB 80,000.
