description

This year marks 50 years since the establishment of the musicology department and the Jewish Music Research Centre at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Department graduates, friends, teachers and students, along with members of the musicology community of Israel, are invited to honor us with your attendance at a festive celebration on Wednesday and Thursday, June 10-11, 2015, in Mount Scopus campus. At this event, we will discuss musicological research from the past, present and with an eye to the future. Throughout this jam-packed and rich day, organized in tandem with the Israel Musicological Society, we will host several of the world’s leading musicologists, including Professor Richard Taruskin (UC Berkeley) and Professor Michael Beckerman (NYU), and hear a selection of live musical pieces.
