Jesus Calms the Storm

One evening, Jesus said to His disciples, “Let’s sail over to the other side of the lake.”

Un soir, Jésus dit à ses disciples : « Passons de l'autre côté du lac. »

Jesus was tired and fell asleep with His head on a pillow.

Jésus, fatigué du voyage, dormait, la tête appuyée sur un coussin.

Suddenly, a great storm came their way. The waves shook the boat back and forth and the boat filled with water.

Et voilà qu'un vent violent se mit à souffler, les vagues se jetaient dans la barque, à tel point que, déjà, elle se remplissait d'eau.

The disciples woke Jesus up, crying, “Master, we’re all going to die!”

Les disciples réveillèrent Jésus alors en criant : « Maître, nous allons mourir ! »

Jesus woke up and rebuked the wind and waves. He said, "Peace! Be still!" The storm stopped and the lake became calm.

Jésus, réveillé, menaça le vent et dit à l'eau du lac : « Silence ! calme-toi ! » Alors le vent tomba et il y eut un grand calme.

“Why were you so afraid?” Jesus asked his disciples. “Where is your faith?”

Puis Jésus dit aux disciples : « Pourquoi avez-vous si peur ? N'avez-vous pas encore confiance ? »
