Jessie’s bracelet making literacy comes from her friends. Jessie loves to go to bracelet making parties with her friends. A bracelet making party is when they all get together one night and make all different kinds of bracelets.

Where did Jessie get her shopping literacy from? 

• The ability to read a sales ad.• The ability to read and understand

the tags on the clothes including the size fabric makeup and wash instructions. 

• Jessie's shopping literacy probably comes from her relationship with her friends. Jessie says “[She] enjoys going shopping with [her] friend Chelsea in her free time.”

A basketball literacy includes the ability to read and understand a play book and know the normal lingo used on the basketball court

Jessie’s basketball literacy comes from a mixture of things it is from her watching my cousin tiffany play basketball and it is also from our dad’s love of the sport.

Scrapbooking A scrapbooking literacy includes knowing the tools that are used and what different techniques are used. For example you would know the difference between cardstock and paper.

Jessie has a scrapbooking literacy because she has a close relationship with our mother and our mother loves to scrapbook.

What does a softball literacy include? 

• Ability to read a playbook • Ability to read and

understand articles about basic skills such as hitting, pitching, catching, and throwing

Why does Jessie have a Softball Literacy? 

Jessie’s Softball literacy started to develop when she began to watch our cousin tiffany and our sister Sylvia play softball and it grew much more through the years after she began playing

Jessie’s interest in anatomy and physiology was initiated by my mom.

Anatomy & PhysiologyIn order to have an anatomy and physiology literacy one must know the organs within the body and how to read about their function and any defects associated with them.

School Based Literacy

Basic Psychology A psychology literacy would include different psychological disorders and different behaviors associated with psychology.

Jessie’s Psychology literacy is from when she took psychology in high school because she wanted to take another class with Ms. Benson.

LawA law literacy includes different techniques that are used by lawyers and court officials. It also includes the knowledge of the different crime labels and classifications like misdemeanor or felony.

Jessie’s law literacy comes from when she took law class in high school. She took this class because she wanted to take another class with her favorite teacher Mr. Marqaurdt.

Wood Working Jessie’s wood working literacy was developed in her woodshop class her senior year of high school. She took the class because she really wanted to have a class with her friend Frank. A wood working literacy

includes the names of all the different tools that are used and the different types of cuts that can be done on each machine and the different techniques that can be executed.
