ACCOMMODATION
The Sonnegg offers a very good standard of accommodation for school groups. PGL has built up an excellent relationship with the Fresacher and Bichler families through many years and these friendly hoteliers provide a very warm welcome to groups. Rooms are large and recently refurbished with 4-6 bunks in each. All rooms are en-suite.
FACILITIES
An entertainment block with four areas is available for use. This includes:
- A large games room with a pool table, dart board and table football.- A separate table tennis room. Groups should take their own bats and balls.- Internet area- A large entertainments room with a moveable stage and sound system, where groups can hold cabarets, fashion shows, presentations or other shows.
There is also is a refurbished ski and boot room.
Saalbach/HinterglemmSaalbach/Hinterglemm
The neighbouring villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm have always been PGL’s most popular Austrian resort, with over 200km of piste and an excellent variety of slopes to suit all standards of skier. A superb lift system covers both sides of the Glemm Valley to form a large 'Ski Circus'. The area boasts some of the most reliable snow conditions in the country.
There are excellent runs for intermediates on beautiful tree-lined pistes and also on the open snowfields above Hinterglemm.
Experts will find some steep and bumpy challenges, especially on the formidable Zwolfer run from the top of Hinterglemm at almost 2000 metres, down to the bottom of the valley.
Meanwhile, for beginners the nursery slopes are close to both village centres, with a range of good and easy runs higher up.

To ensure the smooth running of the trip, the following guidelines are to be followed while we are away.
1. Be polite to everyone, including drivers, instructors, hotel and restaurant staff and employees of the ski resort.
2. No smoking and no alcohol.
3. Pupils are not to leave the hotel unless with staff on an organized activity.
4. Pupils must attend all meals. It is a time when the whole group is together and up to date information is given. Energy is also essential for skiing.
5. Pocket money will be given out at a set time.
6. Pupils must attend all ski lessons. Progress will be quick – miss a lesson and you will be left behind.
Jersey College for GirlsSki Trip 2014
7. All illness and injuries should be reported to a staff member. All medication should be handed in and clearly labeled with name and details of medicines.
8. When skiing; a) listen to your instructor, they are in charge.
b) do not queue jump – they are a necessary evil.
c) NEVER ski alone or without supervision.
d) take care of your boots, skis, poles & helmets.
9. Pupils are expected to make their beds and keep their rooms tidy at all times, there will be a daily room inspection.
10. Pupils should be quiet in their rooms, particularly at night once lights are out. You will need all your energy for skiing.
