We are proud of your courage, resilience, and flexibility of navigating through these uncharted times of education. You have faced a great challenge this year that very few people in our great county have ever experienced. These challenging times have prepared you to face any difficulties you encounter in life. Your innovation during this pandemic has given you skills to learn beyond the walls of a traditional school setting, helped you to create new ways to engage family, friends and teachers, and has taught you to embrace the precious memories that have been experienced during your high school career. Change is inevitable. As you prepare to go to college, the work force, or to serve our country in the military, we know that the quality education you have received in Jefferson County Schools will help you successfully navigate any change you may face in your future. We are proud of you and your accomplishments. Congratulations, Class of 2020! All the Best, Jefferson County Board Members Greetings JEFCOED Family, Our current graduation plans are based on the state’s original Safer at Home Order. The governor announced changes to that order Friday. Due to those amendments, we will review and reevaluate our commencement plans. Just as before, we will consult with the Jefferson County Department of Health and the Alabama State Department of Education. If any changes are warranted, we will communicate them as soon as possible. Our main priority is to celebrate our students in a safe and responsible way. Sincerely, Dr. Walter Gonsoulin Jefferson County Schools Superintendent
