• NAACP now is an organization in the US who supports the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities campaigning for equal opportunity and conducting voter mobilization.

• NAACP was originally formed to stop all of the racism and lynching that was happening towards African Americans.

• The NAACP was founded February 12, 1909.• There has beenmore than half a million

members throught out its existence• The NAACP is the oldest and largest

organization with recognized grassroots-based civil rights.

Effects on African Americans• African Americans during this time period

were suffering from being lynched• Whites were finding unreasonable reasons to

act such a harsh way towards African Americans

• NAACP was a chance for African Americans to gain the rights that they deserved.
