description
Jean-Louis BONNET, alias Coco, homme de couleur libre, native of the Attakapas, makes claim of participation in the war of 1812 as a private in the militia of Neuville DE CLOUET. His survivor pension request was ultimately denied on the grounds of insufficient proof of service in the said militia and war. He fathered children with sisters Arthémise GATHE and Émilie GATHE, both daughters of Christophe GATHE of Germany and Magdeleine TAYLOR of Pennsyivania.
