Johnson (12-1) 105 vs Hesston (6-8) 57 Johnson County Rolls by Hesston OVERLAND PARK, KS – Johnson County stared down the barrel of an 11 game win streak and responded with a 105-57 victory over Hesston. The Cavaliers won their 11th straight and improved their record to 12-1 and 4-0 in region play. Hesston drops to 6-8 overall and 0-4 in the region. The Cavaliers rolled in the first half 55-26. Sophomore Guard Ryan Magdziarz scored 34 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and had 2 steals. Magdziarz single handily scored the Cav’s first 17 points of the second half enroute to a career high. Sophomore Ryan Arel chipped in with 14 points. 6-4 Freshman Forward Justin Leathers posted 9 points and 5 rebounds, to go with 4 assists. JCCC had an excellent offensive performance by shooting 54%( 33/61) from the floor and also recorded 26 assists. The Cav’s also knocked down 12/23 three point baskets. ” We did an excellent defensively which resulted in quite a few transition points”. JCCC held the Larks to 33% from the floor and forced 22 turnovers. “Our bench has really come up huge for us in recent weeks” Other Leading Cav’s: Melvin Turner 6-8 Fr. 8 points, 4 rebounds(off the bench) Tony Jones 6-5 Fr 7 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocked shots (off the bench) Jordan Honore 5-9 So. 9 points, 4 assists( off the Bench)
