January 29, 2011 Johnson (15-6) 78 vs Labette (2-20) 63 PARSON, KS – JCCC picked up a nice road win in Parsons. The Cavaliers built a 12 point advantage (37-25) at half, only to see the Cardinals roar back and tie the game at 47-47 with 9 minutes left. Ryan Arel's traditional three point play gave the lead back to the Cav's, a lead that they would not relinquish. Ryan Magdziarz(6-2 Sophomore) led the Cavaliers with 28 points and 7 rebounds. Ryan Arel (6-3 sophomore) chipped in with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Justin Leathers ( 6-4 Freshman) dropped 12 points and pulled in 5 rebounds and Tony Jones(6-5 Freshman) scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds off the bench. Adam Coatney (6-9 Freshman) , replaced an Injured Melvin Turner(Elbow)in the first half and contributed 6 points and 4 rebounds. The Cavaliers looking for any sign of turning a disappointing January into a productive February may have found some solace in their defense. Johnson County defense held Labette to 33% from the floor and forced 20 turnovers.
