The JCC is the place where community grows. We grow community as we meet new people and see old friends in the gym, swimming pool, and adult programs at the J. We grow community as we educate our children and grandchildren at the J, send them to camp, and enroll them in youth sports, Stagemakers, and afterschool activities. Through all of these activities and many others, we become a stronger and more vibrant community thanks to our welcoming home at the JCC. Member dues and program fees alone do not fully cover the full cost of JCC activities. We invite you to donate to the annual Friends of the J Campaign because there is something about this place. Your donation will make a difference to the JCC and to our community. We are thrilled to share news that anonymous donors will match every new dollar raised before January 15, 2015. What this means is that if your gift is new this year – it will be doubled. And if you gave generously last year - any increase in that gift will also be matched dollar for dollar. You know the JCC is special. Now is the time to show your support and double the impact of your donation. The JCC Board of Directors and JCC Staff are leading the way. This year’s Friends of the J Campaign goals are to engage 200 donors and to raise $100,000. The JCC board and senior staff is fully committed to this campaign, with pledges of $23,000 and an increase in new and matching dollars of $4,000. Thank you for joining us by giving generously and contributing to the something special at the J.

Ms. Holly has her minor in theatre and truly brings this class to life. Our Creative Movement program is a fun and exciting way for children to explore movement through music, develop physical skills, stimulate imagination and promote creativity. Creative movement uses body actions to: communicate an image (the wind), communicate an idea (a journey) or communicate a feeling (strength). We will use manipulatives to

enhance our lessons (dyna bands, stepping stones, hoops, etc…). Every week your child will go on a new journey: through the jungle, getting stuck in “sticky tar”, becoming a bumble bee and flying thru the air. Through movement, children learn about their bodies, the space around them, and each other. Creative movement activities encourage all children to participate and can be used to enhance all areas of learning and growth. We focus on sensory awareness, social, body awareness and concentration. AGES: 3- Pre-KLOCATION: GymnasiumSTAFF CONTACT: Terrence BakerPRICE: $182JCC MEMBER VALUE PRICE: $169 KID ZONE JR. CUPCAKES AT THE JJCC JEWISH & ISRAELI FILM FESTIVAL KICKOFF!

FILM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ADULTS AT THE J AND PRIMETIMEKickoff this year’s film festival with a showing of “Cupcakes”, a “sweet” musical comedy about a diverse group of young neighbors in Tel Aviv who get together to watch Universong, a Eurovision-

like television song contest. Uninspired by the dull Israeli entry and seeking to cheer up a heartbroken friend, they spontaneously compose their own song, and on a whim, one member of the group enters their cell phone video in next year’s contest. To everyone’s surprise, the song is chosen to represent Israel in the finals competition in Paris. “Cupcakes” is a delicious story that celebrates life, love and loyalty. The film is an uplifting experience with tapping tunes. Enjoy wine

and snacks during the film. Film running time is 90 minutes. Hebrew with English subtitles. A dessert reception will be held after the film.
