Introduction:Since we have a powerful spiritual enemy waiting on us, we need to prepare for each day.

The Bible gives us clear instructions about how to make daily preparations in Ephesians 6:7-10; "Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."Our Spiritual Enemy:

Satan (Devil) is referred to as a star which fell or was cast down to earth, and Revelation 12:4 says a third of the stars were cast out with him, then the conclusion is that the stars in Revelation 12 refer to fallen angels, fully one third of the heavenly host. If the one-third number is in fact accurate, what assurance that is! Two thirds of the angels are still on God's side, and for

followers of Christ, they are on our side as well.

Often, we think we can handle situations that we get into. Born-again Christians can live a quality life if they depend upon the spiritual power God has invested in them.

Self, however, is helpless to the demonic principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness represented by hordes of fallen angles or demons. The Bible emphatically stresses the need to live as though "self" is dead. Selfishness only gets us into deeper and deeper trouble for self is no match for our demonic enemies in the world system.

How to Prepare:The Bible instructs us in how to

prepare for our daily activity. The first step is to recognize that we have a spiritual enemy that will do anything to cause us to compromise our Christianity. He is a powerful adversary and will place very hard to resist temptations in our circumstances daily. These temptations are customized to match our weaknesses. Since Satan and his demons are spirit, they can tell what you are thinking and can even plant thoughts into the mind of natural people and carnal Christians.

The second step is to believe God's promise in the Bible about you having more spiritual power in you than Satan is able to throw at you. It is so vitally important that you be a daily student of the Bible. If you do not study the Bible, you will not know about the protective promises God has made for you.

Each morning you should ask to be suited up with the full armor that God has promised to provide you.

We are instructed in I Peter 5:8 that we must be aware that Satan stalks about like a

roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He does this in the most subtle ways. He is a master liar and crafty at deceiving us into thinking that it will be OK to make small compromises and no one will be the wiser!

If he can just get you to make a small compromise, then he will be able to get you to go a little farther until you lose control to him.You Can't Win With Self!

If you attempt to resist your spiritual enemy with self effort rather than employ the

spiritual armor and protective promises from the Bible, you are sure to lose and live a defeated life. If you are a Christian, you have a greater power in you than your spiritual enemy according to I John 4:4. Again, it is so critical that you study the Bible so you will know about the wonderful promises God has made for you.

You will continue to be surrounded by deadly temptations but Jesus has promised to always be with you and He has already defeated Satan for you. You must exercise daily faith in what He has done for you to live a free and quality life.

Actively Resist the Devil:Another great Biblical promise is that we can resist the devil and he must leave us alone.

Jesus has authorized the Christian to use His name to command the devil to depart and he must do so. In James 4:7, we are told that the devil and his demons will flee rather than continue their attack

We are instructed to be bold in our stand against the onslaughts of evil that will persist in tempting us. We can take on the active role of the roaring lion in resisting the temptations that

are being set up for us.We need not lead defeated lives if we

remember to put on the full armor which includes the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth and the shoes of the Gospel of Pease. We must also hold up the shield of faith to ward off the attacks of the evil one and use our offensive weapon, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

Remain Alert:Your spiritual enemy never sleeps!

He is constantly moving about looking for whom he man tempt into making compromising choices. Thus you cannot afford to let your guard down and not remain vigilant; keep your armor in place.

Though the devil can conger up the most delicious looking temptations where you are weak, your Heavenly Father will not permit him to overwhelm you. He cannot tempt you beyond the level that you cannot resist and your Heavenly Father will always provide you a way of escape. This is another wonderful promise recorded in I Corinthians 10:13. So remain alert always and look for the way of escape when temptations come.

As a Christian, you are a new person and old things have passed away. Believe that and act like that on a daily basis; Be strong in the Lord.

The best way to remain prepared to face the temptations of this world is to remain close to your protector. And remaining close to your protector is best accomplished by studying His Word daily and talking to Him by way of prayer. This is the lifestyle of a Disciple of Christ.
