From the Sports Desk

On Wednesday the boys played friendly soccer matches against Cedarwood at Zoo Lake.

A lovely afternoon of soccer and great team spirit and encouragement from all the boys, parents

and coaches. The U9s had their winning ways back and played a fabulous game with goals coming

from Ephrem Gabore – 2, Ona Masondo -1, Matthew Letsoalo - 3 (player of the week), Tine

Tswatswa – 1 and Kananelo Hlpane 1 - eight beautiful goals. A lovely game boys. The U10s drew

2 all with the goals coming from Kananelo Makoanyane and Vuyani Mabindisa. Declan Rossol gets

player of the week. A hard fought game with some lovely saves from our goalies. I got to watch

the U12s and Opens and some awesome soccer was played. The goals came from Molemi

Mxongo -1, Vuyo Sithole – 2 (he gets player of the week), Regan Van Der Walt – 1 and an own

goal. The boys had a lot of opportunities to score and took all the chances they could. A huge

improvement from the week before – team work!!!! The Open boys also won with goals coming

from Lebone Molewa – 2 and a penalty – (missed the first kick but got the rebound) and Thando

Khumalo – 1. Player of the week goes to Tisetso Lenkoe. The boys worked hard and also took a

lot of shots at the goals. The coaches were very proud of you all and thank you so much for all

your hard work.

The netball girls played a friendly against Christchurch Preparatory. They worked hard with some

lovely passing as well as some, not so good catching, but great fun was had by all. The U11s lost

by one goal – unlucky ladies. Beautiful goals by Giorgia Lockhart-Barker and Khensani Shiluvane

again. Player of the week goes to Batya Levin. Beautiful long goals were also taken by Tumelo

Matseba and Lara Botes for the Opens and Tegan Milner for the U12s. Player of the week goes to

Sakeena Umar and Betel Beyin for their much improved defending and hard work getting the ball

from the shooters. Coach Lisa and I are very proud of the hard work that you all have put in and

we appreciate the effort given by all of you.

Please note that next week will be the last of the soccer and netball practices as we will move

over to athletics after the mid-term break. If players who borrowed kit and shin pads could please return it back to me as soon as

possible, it would be greatly appreciated.
