September is the tail end of typhoon season but after this, the weather in autumn (late Sept-November) is generally mild with low rainful, clear skies and pleasant temperatures. Expect highs of 25degrees to low 15degrees, getting colder towards November.

Labelled Japanese rugby’s ‘hallowed ground of the east’ Kumagaya has reived particular recognition for the sport and is host to the spring all-Japan high school rugby championship.

Shizuoka is known for its scenery, tea orchards & hot springs resorts as well as producing star athletes in various sports. The Shizuoka Rugby Club was founded in 1929 and is active to this day.

Famous for being the home of Toyota Motor Corporation HQ, the rugby club team affiliated with TMC has won a number of national rugby championships and enjoys wide popularity.

The first stadium in Japan to be built especially for rugby, back in 1929. The venue and the many historic matches and fan support have led Higashi Osaka to be called the ‘Rugby City’.

With sea & mountains on its doorstep, Kobe is a firm favourite of foreign visitors & residents alike. Rugby has a solid base here and is home to one of Japan’s most venerated clubs.
