Andy and Wendy ARE the byline today. This husband and wife team are the proud publishers of our cherished local newspaper, the Lamorinda Weekly. Back in 2007 when it seemed like printed news was going to vanish with the wave of online publications, this couple took a “leap of faith” and started a small business providing us with an old fashioned way to get our news. The content is hyper-local and it has provided Lafayette, Orinda and Moraga with timely pieces on the most important issues facing the Lamorinda area. Wendy has developed a wonderful relationship with our “Brick and Mortar” as their sales rep and Andy builds the bi- weekly editions. The Lamorinda Weekly is a free, full-color newspaper written for and by the citizens of Lafayette, Moraga, and complete with comprehensive, and uniquely-relevant information to its readers—including local sports and municipal coverage, detailed coverage of the area’s schools, and features that focus specifically on life in Lamorinda. The Lamorinda Weekly is a community newspaper that also provides a forum for public discussions and debates. Andy is an active member of the Rotary Club of Lafayette. Andy and Wendy were informed of their honor at the Rotary’s annual Holiday Luncheon. The “Marquis” Business Person of the Year Annual Dinner will be held on Fri- day, January 29, 2016, beginning at 6pm at the Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa. The evening also includes the introduction to our 2016 Board of Directors, our incoming President Dennis Garrison and the “State of the City” address by Mayor Mark Mitchell. Reservations can be made on line by visiting www.lafayettechamber.org or by calling the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce at 925-284-7404. Knowing that great schools play an important role in the vitality of our town and contribute to a healthy business climate, LPIE provides an opportunity for local businesses and real estate agents to support our schools. Through the LPIE Business and Real Estate Partners Programs, local businesses receive marketing opportunities to reach the over 5,000 LPIE supporters—parents and community members—who understand the importance of supporting local business. Please consider partnering with us. LPIE’s business and real estate partner programs offer unique annual opportunities to support our public schools. LPIE is committed to recognizing your partnership and ac- knowledging our gratitude through a variety of venues in the Lafayette schools and the general community.
