    The Presidents Exhaust

    Hello everyone!

    I hope you all have been enjoying this wonderful weather.

    We had a good showing at the Mardi Gras parade. If you werent able to attend, you missed a good time. Now it is time to move forward and concentrate on getting ready for our car show. We are still looking for a few door prizes and items to go in the goody bags. If you have anything, you can drop them off at Anthony Broughtons office in the Capital One Bank building or bring them to the next meeting.

    Well need everyones help to make this show the success we are used to having. Hope to see you all there!

    Minutes From Last Meeting

    February 16, 2017 Cars of Palestine Monthly Meeting Meeting called to order at 7:30.....Board Member Jeannette Alford presiding

    Invocation given by Beth Ward

    Sunshine Report.......Emery has talked to Mac Dempsey, Mac thanks everyone for

    thoughts and prayers concerning the passing of his father in law. It was good to see

    Buddy Morel at our meeting. Myrtle Kitzmann after having stroke, still in Tyler

    hospital. Thankful for Dee and Gene to have not had serious injuries from wreck they

    had . Gene does have broken finger but Dee says they are so thankful for seat belts and

    air bags because truck was totaled. She says wear your seatbelts !!!

    Treasurer's Report .......Annette Stobar submitted CAPITAL ONE ( operating

    account)..$6,594.39 CAPITAL ONE (special project account ).. $7,699.30 CAPITAL

    ONE ( AHOOO )..$12,159.75 Approved by club.

    Lynn Oden made motion to approve minutes from last month's meeting in newsletter

    be approved, Beth Ward second. Motion passed.

    Old Business......Club dues are due ! Lynn gave update on car club trailer to be

    repaired after car show . Motion made by James Kirkwood, second by Marian Raney

    for approval. Motion passed.

    Activities......Mardi Gras parade on Saturday. Meet at What A Burger at 4:00 for cruise

    in then will go to parade to line up and decorate cars at 5:00 for parade. Can put lights

    on cars because it will be dark shortly after parade start time at 6:00. Carroll's

    Automotive having Grand Opening Saturday, the 18th. After car show, reservations are

    at 5:30 for relaxing, fellowship time at Don Marios. MARCH meeting at Ben E Keith.

    APRIL 22......Lake Salmon will be our Fun Day trip. Emails latter concerning food

    items. Hamburgers, hot dogs and trimmings. APRIL 29......Marian is captain of her

    RELAY FOR LIFE team. It will be from 4 to 10 at Westwood High School football field.

    She says anyone can come out and be a part of this. If interested can purchase Luminar

    for $5 in MEMORY or in HONOR of your loved one. Be sure and check emails for up

    coming activities.

    CAR SHOW........Still need goody bags, door prizes. What ever can be donated is

    appreciated. Rumps BBQ will be there with their delicious food and DJ for show,

    Boogie Butt Productions has been paid. Craig says that all 30 sponorships on T-shirts

    are filled. New members from RAILYARD signed on to be sponsor.....THANK YOU !

    Let Lynn know ASAP on any signs needed for car show so he can get those made. Craig

    also suggested we mail out car show flyers to our previous participants so they will

    know about our upcoming show in March. Melissa has offerd to mail these flyers out.

    Craig also suggested to send THANK YOU notes to all participating sponsors after the

    car show. Beth is going to do this for the club.

    Fun Drawing......Emery Capt won $27.00 and donated it back to club......Thank you ,

    Emery

    assignment, please check with Jimmy Alford, Craig Landrum, Lynn Oden,

    of donations for door prizes and goody bags. These items can be brought

    to Anthony Broughtons officeABs Custom Computers in the Capital

    One bank building on Loop 256.

    It will take the work of all of our members to make this event a success.

    Mardi Gras Parade

    Club members gathered at the cruise in at Whataburger and then went to the designated spot to line

    up for the parade. We had a nice showing with lots of decorations. Hope to see you at our next

    outing!
