Catechism of the Catholic Church
“The Human Virtues”
In Brief:
1833. Virtue is a habitual and firm disposition to
do good.
1834. The human virtues are stable dispositions of
the intellect and the will that govern our acts,
order our passions, and guide our conduct in
accordance with reason and faith. They can be
grouped around the four cardinal virtues:
prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance.
1835. Prudence disposes the practical reason to
discern, in every circumstance, our true good and
to choose the right means for achieving it.

Blessed are they who fear the Lord and walk in his
ways.
A Special note from Father Samuel Appiasi: We enter a new year with hope and great promise, looking back to this past year with abundant thankfulness. As a parish family we were faced with much adversity after being hit by Hurricane Harvey. I thank the Lord for blessing us with many volunteers who whole heartedly dedicated their time and talents to reach out to others throughout these turbulent times. Together we were able to help rebuild what was lost. Let us continue to work hard to improve our parish community and build up the body of Christ--the Church- here in Bloomington.
Happy New Year’s To All!!
