Message from the President!

HEY KEY CLUBBERS!

What an honor it is to be the newly elected incoming Key Club President! As

the incoming president, I will work diligently to ensure that each member is

given the opportunity to make a difference. With my last year of high school

and Key Club approaching, I look forward to doing big things! Although there

will be a large range of events and projects, my emphasis will be primarily

on improving education by promoting a positive ambiance in our school. Let

me know if at any time you have ideas for projects or causes near and dear

to your heart that you would like to assist.

To those of you who know me and my dedication to Key Club – prepare to

witness that devotion reach new heights! To those of you whom I have not

had the pleasure to personally meet yet, anticipate a driven, fun, spirited

leader who’s really, really loud when it comes to cheering (who also enjoys

baking cookies, cupcakes, etc.) I hope I can inspire some of you as the

past presidents and officers have inspired me. It may seem far-fetched to

think that you can make a difference in the world, but in reality it’s as simple

as coming up with an idea and bringing it to Key Club! I look forward to

another year of excellence and impeccable service with you all!

In Loving Service,

Katie Chanthakhoun

Current Vice President

Pre-Con(vention)

On Saturday, January 19, some members

went to the Rose Quarter to get excited

about DCON!! Essentially, it was a mini

DCON with the same jam-packed fun.

They mingled with memebrs from all over

the district and watched the Trailblazers

take on the Bucks. During Pre-Con,

District Board officers talked about

Key Club’s goal, successes and meaning.

Everybody playedicebreakers and showed

Key Club spirit. Over 200 members

from 6 different divisions came. Three schools

represented 65! Forest Grove essentially

brought their entire club!

All in all, the convention was a spectacular

way to prepare for the big event: DCON!

DCON

District Convention, a weekend filled

with fun and dedication. Experience

a one-in-a-lifetime Key Club dream in

SeaTac, Washington. Meet Key

Clubbers from Alaska, Canada,

Washington, Idaho, Northern

California, and others from Oregon!

Imagine 1500+ members decked out

in full spirit gear, competing and

cheering for the Spirit Stick. There are

forums (training and entertainment),

a dance, games, and a Service Fair.

Prepare to lose your hearing and

voice. Interested? Contact one of

the officers for more information! Go

Pacific Northwest!
