Happy Lunar New Years Key Club! Hay monsters! I hope that you all had a spectacular month of January and were paid handsomely by the red envelopes! It is almost time for club elections, so if you are a dedicated member who capable of devoting time, energy, and love into the club please contact one of the board members or attend our weekly meetings in the cafeteria. I hope you all enjoyed the Key Club Talent Show! Hopefully you all enjoyed the performances and the pageant questioning despite my attempt to dance at the end. If possible, give Jean-Luc and his project committee a big pat on the back for being able to organize such a successful event! District Convention—Santa Clara is coming soon, I really hope to see you there! It is one of the most excit-ing and informational events Key Club offers to its members all year. Keep working hard to keeping the community beautiful and I hope you enjoy the newsletter!

Kiwanis Family House January 7, 2012
Volunteers were asked to create a presentable environment for families undergoing unfortunate problems in order to provide comfort and relaxation. Volunteers pulled weeds, cleaned windows, and various other work to help make the Kiwanis family house more comfortable.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day Park Clean-up January 14, 2012
Volunteers were asked to help pick up trash and litter on the park property so that the park is a place where families feel more comfortable when they come to the community park! Southside Park Adopt-a-park Day January 21, 2012
Volunteers helped make the park “swagnificent” through picking up trash, cleaning the jungle gym for children, pulling weeds, etc.
Elk Grove Kiwanis Crab Feed 2012 January 21, 2012
Assisted in serving food to the attendees as well as ticket selling, kitchen help, and any other customer service. This event was both satisfied the need to help the community as well as improved customer service skills of the volunteers.
