A Blueprint for ReformThe Reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act

The U.S. Department of Education……

“We are calling on states and districts to develop and implement systems of teacher and principal evaluation and support, and to identify effective and highly effective teachers and principals on the basis of student growth and other factors.”

Which Evaluation System?

No specific system is required; however, all teacher and principal evaluation systems must meet the six guidelines for educator evaluation.

Kansas Educator Evaluation Protocol (KEEP) is a model which districts may use.

All adopted evaluation systems will be peer reviewed and approved by KSDE to ensure each of the six guidelines are addressed.
