Theres a new manager at The Merc with plenty of positive energy.

Ronnie Sommerville, of Powell, wants to build on The Mercs existing great customer service for starters, she said.The Merc, a community-owned business,

already offers a large selection for customers of all sizes and ages, Sommerville said.Building relationships is one of Sommer-

villes goals. She plans to stand behind the stores merchandise and listen to the cus-tomer to discover what they want and need, she said.

If they know they can trust us they will come back, Sommerville said.

We feel real pleased to have Ronnie on board, said Sharon Earhart, Merc Board of Directors president.

It would seem The Merc and Sommerville

are a good fit. The job description was written for me,

Sommerville said.She would like to target, at least to a certain

extent, females 25 to 50.My vision is more of a womens store,

Ronnie and Billy Sommerville have been

married for 23 years. They have two chil-dren. Their son, Austen, 21, is serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Allison, 14, is attending school in Powell. Ronnie and Billy were born and raised in Powell. Deep roots here, Som-merville said.

Sommerville started working at The Merc after Christmas so she could spend time with Austen while he was home for the holidays, Earhart said.

It was awesome, Sommerville said.She enjoys working with the public, helping

people and welcomes feedback. I love retail.The public will have an opportunity to meet

Sommerville on Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free cookies, punch and coffee will be served. There will be prizes for those who register.There will likely be several drawings for
