ABOUT THE COMPANY

KELLY RENEE ARMSTRONG (Somebody’s Mama) has been seen in numerous productions that include roles at Rep Stage, Studio Theatre, Theatre J, Center Stage, Everyman Theatre, Bay Theatre Company, Spooky Action Theatre, and Arena Stage. As an educator, she has taught at Howard Community College, Bowie State University, and George Mason University. She was a participant in Arena Stage’s Playwrights Arena and a member of Actor’s Arena.

She is a core apprentice with The Playwright Center in Minneapolis and her play, Sins of the Father, had a recent reading at the Kennedy Center. Kelly is also a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association and Dramatist Guild.

KALYNE COLEMAN (Sister Girl) is from Richmond, Virginia and is a Brown/Trinity Rep MFA in Acting Program grad and University of Pennsylvania alum. LIZ MORGAN (Another Daughter) is thrilled to be collaborating with Tyler Thomas who brilliantly directed the NY Premiere of her full length play, The Clark Doll, in 2019. Liz is an actor and writer best known for her poem “Why I Was Late Today...” featured in the Huffington Post. CELESTE JENNINGS (Playwright) is a playwright and costume designer who is passionate about accurately representing BIPOC characters and their stories. Most recently, her choreopoem, Citrus, was produced at Northern Stage. She’s overjoyed and so proud to be working with Northern Stage again! She most recently developed her play, Processing, with the Arts and Science Council of Charlotte with support from the Black theatre Network, and

Women’s Theatre Festival. Assistant design credits include Mlima’s Tale (Public Theatre) as well as Cardinal (2nd Stage Theatre). Recent design credits include Citrus (Northern Stage), It’s Fine, I’m Fine (Northern Stage and United Solo Theatre Festival), Dutch Masters (Northern Stage), Esai’s Table (JAG), and Ties that Bind (Catholic University).

TYLER THOMAS (Director) is a director and choreographer, currently based in NYC. Her work has most recently been presented by The Vineyard Theatre, Rattlestick Theater, New Ohio Theatre and NYMF. As an associate and assistant, she has worked with directors such as Whitney White, Taibi Magar, Young Jean Lee, Lear deBessonet, Lee Sunday Evans, and the Builders Association. Tyler is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors’ Lab, current 2050 NYTW Fellow, Foeller Fellow at Williamstown Theatre Festival, Visiting Artist at the Athens Conservatoire in Greece, Resident Director of The Commissary, and recipient of the 2021 Susan Stroman Directing Award from The Vineyard Theatre. She graduated in 2018 from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Theater and has spent the last two years as a stage manager and theater educator based out of NYC.
