Staff News
We sadly said goodbye
to Miss Morgan at the
end of last term. We
wish Miss Morgan all
the very best with her
forthcoming wedding
and future new adventures
We have successfully appointed a new
teacher in Year 3. Mr Christon is
currently teaching in a Leicester school
and will be joining us later in the term.
In the meantime Mrs Walker has
temporarily returned to teach her former
class and we warmly welcome her back
to Thringstone.
Christmas Concerts
We were joined by families,
friends and governors for our
fabulous Christmas concerts at
the end of term. In each of our
3 performances, the children
entertained us with clear voices,
fantastic singing and super acting and
dancing. The confidence, enthusiasm and
energy, with which the
children performed was
admired and applauded by an
appreciative audience and it
was also obvious that
performers and audience alike
thoroughly en joyed the
experience.
Donations given at the
concerts have gone this year
to a local charity, LOROS,
in memory of Sandie Colby who sadly
passed away before Christmas. Sandie and
her family benefited from the care and
support LOROS provided them.
Your generosity raised a tremendous
£205.30 for the charity - I have already
received thanks from John, Sandie’s
husband and Loros thanking everyone for
their kindness in support of this cause.
High Tea with Mr Rowell
Children who had achieved 80 Dojo
points or more enjoyed afternoon tea
served by Mrs Hammersley, Miss Jones,
Mrs Concannon and Mrs Gascoigne.
The afternoon started with the children
choosing their headwear from an
interesting selection available!

First Time School Admissions
If your child will be four years old before
1st September 2020 and starting school for
the first time, the closing date for
applications is 15th January 2020.
School Logo
Children, staff and governors have been discussing ideas and
opinions in lessons, assemblies and meetings about what makes
Thringstone Primary School, Thringstone Primary School. We have
also been looking at our current motto; ’enjoying achievement together’
and considering whether it needs reviewing and changing to better meet our aims and
vision.
We have also been looking at renewing our school logo as our current one has been in
place for a long time and perhaps needs updating.
Any changes to the logo and/or motto would be implemented over time and there would
be some considerable time when both are used.
We recognise that children are likely to wear uniform with our current logo on for quite a
while; this could be a few years. Once agreed, the logo used on letterheads,
correspondence, signage etc can be changed much quicker, however there will be no
expectation that new uniform must be purchased.
Everyone must apply for a school place, as
there is no automatic entry for any school
Working Party
Miss Kinsey, our
Forest School practitioner is looking for
some willing volunteers to help her

of our planned working party days we
would be very grateful. If you are
interested or would like to find out more,
please contact the school office and Miss
Kinsey will get in touch. No special
skills or experience needed!
