This month watch out for: The Monday afternoon craft session will be starting up a Creative Journal

project for 2017.

Our exercise classes start up again on Tuesday 10th January.

Games afternoons on Wednesday now have a more structured schedule and

will be supervised by a wonderful volunteer.

We have three new courses starting for the New Year; Advanced Punjabi

Cookery, Jewellery Beading and Creative Hand Stitching.

This month our Minibus trips are to Shoreham RNLI Lifeboat Station and

Brooklands Motorsport and Aviation Museum.

In our Therapy Room, Ross the Osteopath is here every Tuesday afternoon,

Nicky our Massage & Nail therapist is here on the 5th and the 19th and Anita

the Chiropodist is here on the 25th.

Heads up for next month on Thursday 2nd February we have starting a

monthly Bingo afternoon with Roy from 1.00-3.00pm

donations are very gratefully received) Thursday 26th January – Brooklands Motorsport & Aviation Museum, Weybridge

The Museum displays a wide range of Brooklands-related motoring and aviation exhibits ranging from giant racing cars, motorcycles and bicycles to an unparalleled collection of Hawker and Vickers/ BAC-built aircraft, including the Second World War Wellington Bomber, Viking,

Varsity, Viscount, Vanguard, VC10, BAC One-Eleven and the only Concorde with public access in South East England.

Creative Hand Stitching Course

“Personal Memories” using

creative hand stitching, and family

memorabilia to build a fabric

collage.

Tutor: Marilyn Willis

The first class will introduce the topic and

show some basic hand embroidered

techniques. Then we will use a photograph

from the past and any pieces of family

memorabilia; vintage jewellery, buttons and lace to evoke a personal

memory by using these fragments of a bygone era. Marilyn will help you

build a fabric collage using hand stitching which could include words or

torn pieces from old letters. Marilyn will supply some fabric/lace etc.

On selected Thursdays between 1.00-3.00pm, see dates below:

9th February 2017 Bring photo and fabrics etc. Start to work out collage
