    BOSC,

It is hard to believe that we

are almost to the end of 2014!

It seems as though this year

flew by. I hope that everyone is

    enjoying the holiday season

    with friends and family. The

    Christmas season is a special

time for my family and I. We

    have many traditions we do

each year. Our most favorite is

    baking cookies and treats for

the season. It seems to fall

    around the second week of

    December each year, we head

to the kitchen and spend an

    entire day baking cookies, mak-

    ing fudge and other Christmas

treats. This is one of my favor-ite recipes to make for Christ-

mas. It is always a hit with any

sweet and salty fan. Our neigh-

bors love it! I hope you enjoy

    it:

    Christmas Crack

    Ingredients:

    35 to 40 saltine crackers

    2 sticks (1 cup) butter

    1 cup light brown sugar

    8 ounces semisweet chocolate

    chips (about 1 1/3 cups)

Preheat the oven to 425 de-

    grees F.

    Line 1 large or 2 small jelly-roll

    pans with aluminum foil, spray

    with nonstick spray and arrange

the saltines salt-side down in a

single layer. In a medium sauce-

pan, melt the butter and brown

sugar together and boil until it

turns a caramel color, a few

    minutes. Remove from the heat

    and pour over the crackers,

    covering them evenly.

Put the jelly-roll pan into the

oven and bake for 2 to 4

    minutes, or until just bubbly,

    watching carefully. Remove

from the oven and pour the

    chocolate chips over the crack-

ers. When the chips melt a bit,

    spread them over the crackers

    with a knife.

Transfer the pan to the freezer

for 30 to 40 minutes, or until

    completely cold. They will form

one big sheet. Break up into

pieces. Store in an airtight con-tainer.

This month was a very busy

month for our BOSC board. A

    special thank you to Valerie

    Nicholas for organizing the Buff

    and Brunch, where the silver

    belonging to BOSC was pol-

    ished. She also coordinated the

    decorating of the Barksdale

    Club and the Stripes Club

    for Christmas. Thank you

    to all the volunteers who

    participated at both

    events. Without all of

    you, these would not

    have been successful.

    ton, Maria McKenna, and

    Jennifer Attaway for plan-

    ning and organizing the an
