The Inspiration – Guruji
Dr. E.Vedavyas
The modern Sciences in the past few
centuries have developed tools,
technologies and improved their
understanding of various Sciences
connected with Vedic Culture. There are
still a lot of things that can be learned from
the study of the Vedas and Vedic Sciences.
For learning suc Vedic Sciences exhaustive
research and study efforts have to be taken
up.
A hint of this was given by Pujya Sri Guruji
Dr. Vedavyas IAS, Ph.D., D.Litt in his book
“Vedic Sciences, What are they?” and many
other publications by him. The work done
by Sri Guruji Dr.Vedavyas, his vision, his
talks and his publications are the
inspiration for this project by International
Institute for Vedic Sciences.
"Your donations will help build a future society of your children and grand children who will not involve and suffer from hatred, fighting, discrimination and disharmony in family and society. And they strive to work for evolution of mankind to Divinity." – Sri Guruji addressing the audience at Delaware, USA, when Yoga Brotherhood was first incorporated in 1985-86.
Rishi Vatika – Main Ashram Building
The main administrative block has made tremendous progress in last few
months. The slab for the ground floor was completed in September 2012.
The administrative block will be utilized for the ashram activities.
In December, a team from Aditya Solar camped at Rishi Vatika and installed
10 Street solar lights. The facility for a continuous supply of 1200 Watts
power; an inverter run from 4 solar panels was installed. This inverter
provides enough power to run a light, fan and laptop etc. when the
electricity supply from the main source is not available. An idol of lord
Ganesha (picture shown in the first page) has been procured. The sculptor
for this idol Dr. N.N.Swamy was formerly Deputy Director of Archeology
Survey of India, Mysore [Picture of the idol has been published]. In Rishi
Vatika, a location for lord Ganesha’s mandapam has been identified which is
close to the entry point of the total landscape of Rishi Vatika. As one drives
to Rishi Vatika, the Ganesh mandapam will be on the right side of the
accessing main road.
Also it is planned to build a few cottages for visitors and members to stay. A
plan for cottages scheme is published in Rishi Vatika II booklet. Rishi Vatika
booklet can be obtained from the nearest YBA, VBT or USCEFI members.

Karthika Vana Bhojanam
4
On December 2nd
Karthika Vana Bhojanam was
arranged at Rishi Vatika. Dr. P.Ramanujam
indicated that a large number of institutions
currently are performing research on Vedic
Sciences. He took a tour of the campus and
found the place to be filled with bliss along with
high spiritual vibrations. He took the trouble to
climb up the East side hillock facing the main
ashram block. He was extremely fascinated with
the environment and the natural beauty
surrounding it. To the closed vicinity of the main
ashram block (in about 300 meters) there is an
old well to the depth of about 330m and around
25ft in diameter. Dr. Ramanujam indicated that
some of early Vedic scholars preferred drinking
water from such wells (natural resources of
water), where the purity of water is quite high.
He also suggested that this well has to be
protected as it has long term use. The proximity
of the well to the campus would attract some
Vedic Scholars. He himself promised to spend
some time and conduct Vedic exchange in this
place.
