ASK A FRANCISCAN…
Will I Know him?
My husband died of cancer almost two years ago. He was the love of my life as I was his. Will I ever see him again and be with him?
Yes, you will see him and be with him. Jesus’ teaching that
those in heaven “neither marry nor are given in marriage” (Mt 22:30) is a caution against thinking that life in heaven is simply an extension of life on earth. Being in God’s immediate presence changes everything. Saints there are aware of each other.
Scripture Reflection with Fr. Tim will resume Tuesday, January 21st

FAITH FORMATION NOTES
FIRST COMMUNION
PARENT MEETING
MARCH 4th at 7:00pm
Gospel Reading John 1:29-34 John testifies that Jesus is the Lamb of God, God’s own Son.
Family Connection
The ministry of John the Baptist prepared for and pointed to the ministry of Jesus. In a similar way, our lives are to offer testimony to who we know Jesus to be for us and for the world. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. How does the witness of our lives give testimony to the reconciling presence of Christ?
Consider how John the Baptist gives testimony to who Jesus is. Talk about what people might come to know about Jesus by observing your family life. Pray together that your family life will show others that Jesus is the Son of God, the lamb who takes away the sins of the world. Pray the Lord’s Prayer. (Loyola Press)
Mass every Sunday is ‘so important’ says Pope It’s so important to go to Mass every Sunday because that’s where people receive Christ who saves, forgives and unites everyone to his father, church and each other, Pope Francis said.
It’s also “important that children are well prepared for first Communion because … after baptism and confirmation it is the first step toward belonging strongly, really strongly, to Jesus Christ,” he said.
In his catechesis, Pope Francis said that by celebrating the sacrament of the body and blood of Christ, “we participate in the mystery of the passion, death and resurrection of Christ.”
“By making himself broken bread for us, the Lord Jesus pours out to us all of his mercy and his love, renewing our heart, our existence and our way of relating to him and our brothers and sisters,” he said. Taking part in the Eucharist “conforms us in a unique and profound way to Christ,” he said, granting Christians a foretaste of full communion with God in heaven, “where with all the saints we will have the unimaginable joy of contemplating God face to face.”
“We will never thank the Lord enough for the gift he gave us with the Eucharist,” said Pope Francis. (Catholic Herald)
