Youth and Parents,

Get ready for year 2020! This honestly looks like it will be one of the most amazing years we will ever experience in our student ministry at Philadelphia. Our goal is to be sensitive to the Lord’s leading and endeavor to get in on what He is doing. The Lord has led us to some big things that will make eternal impacts and we want to invite you to be an important part of it. Did you know that your student ministry has seen over 1,200 salvations in the past 5 years? Many of those were led to Jesus by our students themselves!

I want to invite you to participate in the life-changing moments that are listed below:

January 18th – 20th – FOCUS 2020 – Cost: $15 – This will cover your 2 new servant ministry t-shirts. A revival event for the Glenmora/Oakdale Community – This is an amazing mission opportunity for us! Sign-up to help soon! We are partnering with 10 other churches in the Mt. Olive Association & Ken Freeman to bring the Gospel to this community! All of our ministry teams will be used! We will be leading worship, block parties, and sports tournaments.

March 22nd – Sunday – We will be leading a one-night Associational Youth Service at Bethel Baptist Church in Colfax. After the service, we will help lead them in a youth game night! All our servant ministry teams will be used!

April 3rd – 10th – Get ready for the New York Mission Trip! This event has come together through unbelievable circumstances and we can definitely see God’s hand supernaturally over it. We will fly out on Friday, April 3rd, and return back on Friday, April 10th. If you are a student in Rapides Parish public schools, your absence on that Friday will be excused.

The Cost is: $675. However, if you faithfully attend Philadelphia Baptist with a Sunday School attendance of at least 50% and you participate on a servant ministry team, then you will qualify for a 25% off mission scholarship ($168.75). Parents and other family members can also qualify for this Missions scholarship as long as they meet the Sunday School attendance requirement.

In order to participate on this mission trip, you will need to be a student that has 80% in attendance on a servant ministry team. Family members of the participating student are also invited to join our New York Mission Trip team. Don’t forget to take advantage of every fundraiser. We will have more than enough fundraisers that have the potential for you to raise all the funding needed for Summer Camp and this mission trip. Also, take advantage of the Mission Trip Donation Letter, and send it to people who would love to support you prayerfully and financially on this trip. Lastly, there will be a NY Mission Trip meeting on Sunday night, January 12th at 4pm. Your $100 deposit will be due at this time.

April 24th -26th – One of the best weekends of the year!! D-NOW2020 – It’s going to be incredible! (This is a do-not-miss event…all of our events are actually.) Get ready for the Gauntlet, Ultimate Tug-O-War, and a new Underground Church game! Parents! We want and need you to come help with this event! Cost: $50 – This includes your food, t-shirt, lodging, and all activities.

June 7th – 13th – Senior High Summer Camp 2020 – Speaker: Wade Morris Worship: Jared Wood –This is a Generate Camp that will be held in Cleveland, Tn at Lee University. We are also going white water rafting on the Ocoee river! Cost: $430 – We will match your $50 deposit, and you will receive $50 for being 80% in a servant ministry. Cost after discount: $330.

July 12th – 16th – Junior High Summer Camp 2020 – Speaker: Ken Freeman and others! This is a Wildweek camp in Aquilla, TX. where we will get to do awesome activities like paintball, swimming, canoeing, rock climbing, and a zip-line. We will also make a stop at Buck-ee’s and Six Flags! Cost: $430 – We will match your $50 deposit, and you will receive $50 for being 80% in a servant ministry. Cost after discount: $330.

Philadelphia Zoe Summer Camp Budgeted Chaperone Procedure

In this procedure the purpose of a chaperone is to be a regular volunteer in the Zoe Youth Ministry. This person should be currently building relationships and connecting with teenagers in the Zoe Youth Ministry to make a difference in their lives.

The selection of eligible chaperones who will benefit from being funded by the Youth Ministry Budget will be determined on a “first come, first served” basis. Budgeted chaperones are limited to one per family unless you have been requested to serve as a funded chaperone. After the official published announcement of Camp Dates, an eligible chaperone will have the opportunity to request to be a funded chaperone by email to marilyn@pbcministry.com. This will be applied in the over-all structure of the following “serving tier” according to the date and time stamp of the email request. If an eligible chaperone is not able to attend, then the next person on the list will be given an opportunity to be a funded chaperone.

Events, but also have been a Fundraiser coordinator that facilitates an actual fundraiser event during the academic school year.

6. Wednesday Night Small Group Leaders (at least 6 consecutive months serving)7. Youth Event Volunteers – These are volunteers that have served/participated in at least 5 Youth Ministry

Events during the academic school year.

Zoe Students and Parents!

Get ready for an amazing opportunity on January 18th, 19th, & 20th! This will be a Saturday through Monday ministry event.(Martin Luther King Holiday on that Monday!)

We will be partnering with Ken Freeman, 10 other churches in the Glenmora, Oakdale, Forest Hill communities, and having an amazing event called FOCUS 2020!

This is an event that our student ministry will be leading! We will be helping these churches do block parties, sports tournaments, service projects, and more! We will also lead the worship each night in the Glenmora High School Auditorium and use all our servant ministry teams!

The revival services will be each night(Saturday, Sunday, Monday), and the block parties, service projects, and sports ministry tournaments will be on Saturday and Monday.

Parents! Opportunities like this are rare. Please come sign-up to serve along-side your student!

I have the wonderful opportunity to be a part of a mission trip to a growing church that is reaching peoplefor Christ in Staten Island, New York. Philadelphia Baptist church has partnered with Salem Church in the pastand saw amazing results with many lives forever changed through service projects, a block party with Africanimmigrants, leading in worship services, passing out Gospel literature, and using our ministry teams in variousparks in New York. The Philadelphia Zoe Student Ministry is excited about this new opportunity to partneragain with Salem Church that will be expanding to a new campus during our mission trip. On this trip we will beserving through service projects, revival services, performing in various parks, sports ministry, block parties,canvassing, and ministering to the young and old of Staten Island, New York. The dates of this missionopportunity are April 3rd through April 10th, 2020. The cost of the mission trip is $675.
