This ½ day course provides an overview of the strategy and philosophy of Business Architecture. It is designed for individuals new to Business Architecture or who want to become Business Architects.

One of the key values that Business Architecture brings to the organization is the identification and modeling of core business competencies. This two day course provides a base level introduction to business models, business competencies and business processes.

The Business Architect serves as an internal consultant to the organization and is often required to facilitate meetings in order to identify competencies and create business models. This two day course is designed to introduce learners to philosophy behind and the skills needed to be a consultant and facilitator.

One of the keys to being a successful Business Architect is the ability to approach problems and opportunities from the business perspective. This two day course is designed to refocus the learners vision to the business.

This course is designed to give learners the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge they have gained to a case study.

This course further examines the learners’ organization and refines the business models developed in the prior class.

This class pulls the entire series together for the learner. The class will be divided into teams and given a case study. Based on the case study the teams would:

Draw the overall business model Identify the core competencies Identify IT systems needed to support the competencies Do a high level marketplace analysis Make a presentation to the class on recommendations for improving the

business.
