Hello. Welcome to my little piece of the Pie. We

look forward to this year with all the new people I

have met in the area, new mindset. Things will be

moving quickly around Freeport and Walton county

in 2016. So many new faces = new customers. Advertising here helps them see you.

I was overwhelmed with the 287 of you wishing us a Happy and Prosperous 2016. I also

try to keep up with you all on Facebook too. It truly warms my heart to see there is finally

enough growth here that we have more readers every week viewing us from around the

world. Thank you who Advertise to help us to continue to offer this as a ‘FREE’ item.

Just call me @ 585-0262 if you have any questions, I am here to HELP.

Have you made up your mind on who your going to Vote for to replace this current

administrative disaster we have? Do you realize that the voting begins in 3 weeks?

Nationally, we are in one Hell of a predicament now. Can Trump keep setting the pace?

When I viewed the actual footage found in Germany and other parts of Europe from New

Year’s Eve, it made me really sick. Really sickening. It’s nauseating to see many lawless

men grab a woman just cause she was there, exploit her, they were loud in large numbers.

Just hearing her screams as they carried the women off being groped sexually and raped by

many sick bastards. I know this is a harsh topic. (I don’t Make the news). Keep on...

As a Father of 2 teenage girls, I threw up thinking that could be someone I knew. These

are grown men doing whatever they want to regardless of persecution. Especially if you

watch the horror in the girls faces. With fireworks and gunshots, lots of smoke, the “Mob”

just carried them off, like a wave does you in the water.

I have been made aware of several folks who have had to deal (within this county), issues

of stalking, harassment and sexually perverted predators over the years. Messing with a

young woman’s mind is one thing, it too resonates in their mind the rest of their lives. That

is just locally in Walton county. White/ Black/Latino men, with a twisted outlook of mess-

ing with children at any level is ok to them. Check your sexual predator listings, see where

they are living and where they are. It’s your children at risk. You cannot be there all the

time. Listen to what your kids are going to say. Don’t wait until after it happens, stay per-

sistent to keep a safe environment. Take notice around you. Strangers are that, strange.

Just as an unexplainable the disaster that happened to over 200 cases of gang rape just

from that one night in Europe? Many more are ashamed to come forward. There were so

many doing this that they cannot say who did what when, if they lived thru it at all. Have

you educated the women in your family about these sick people? I have. This is far more

than our country is prepared to deal with, before it reaches epidemic lawlessness and or

Sharia-Law? Read up on this! It is here, enforced in Michigan and is building momentum

to spread like a disease. This disease can grab you at any moment, you are out numbered,

minding your own business. We don’t know where they are! Male or Female.

We don’t know who they are, even after the disgusting pigs are done violating these

women. What could you ever say to one of those girls to make them feel better? A living

nightmare affecting our World at all levels. Think about it. Your pistol holds 6 shots.

They were also once ‘little daughters’ of someone. How could anyone (even with a

loaded machine gun) stop a Mob of hundreds doing what they have done? The police were

outnumbered. Girls taken from their boyfriends, Husbands being pulled away as they tear

at his wife and do the unimaginable. How do you fix her heart after that? No different as

young girls being peeped-in on. (Violated). Damages beyond repair. They may say they

are “Ok”, what would be the redemption value of one’s insecurities created by someone?

Just as you don’t really know who is living down the road. Just because they have not

been caught before means they may have a clean record, until they are caught and charged.

So, the predator list only shows you “convicted” sex-offenders released under stipulations

to keep them away from hurting someone, physically or mentally again.

I beg each one of you to ask yourself this question: How are we going to stop the mass

hysteria of Muslims and so-called Refugees that don’t adhere to any belief’s we feel for to

keep our women in the US safe? I urge you if your into the “next what’s happening” in

America to view Info-Wars.com with Alex Jones, daily. There are plenty of other very

informative overseas resources I watch as well. What happens there is coming here.

Even if you arm your women with a gun or a Stun-gun or Pepper spray. A group of 8

Middle– Eastern men raped an 82 year old woman just this past week here in the US.

Many reports have shown this to becoming a western problem, for our way of life will be

altered if it continues to spread like it is. They say there is nothing we can do about it?

I wish I could never know how barbaric I see these people. It is etched in my brain.

Imagine just a Van load coming from I-10 searching for a neighborhood or a woman by

herself….I tell you all this. I will do my Best to keep you informed of things going wrong

in such severity that I pray for us here that this won’t happen. The scary thing is. They

don’t have to be Muslim, Black or White. Once a person thinks they can get a way with

messing with someone to the point of intolerable actions. What will you do? How would

you handle the “unjustice” being done to you and your family? Even thru court hearings,

the damages have already been endured by you, it stays in your physcological out-look

towards others forever. How do you put a price on that? Trust me, Protect your children!

The Wolfe’s Den

When you hear of

someone talking

down another

person...you have

never met the

person. Do you

actually think that

the same person

may be different

towards you

because the person

may be a nice

person to you?

When someone

antagonizes

another Man to

pester that family

they feel unhappy.

For what they

started, has now

come back to bite

them. Karma…..

That same guy you

hear is an asshole,

(may be one to that

person) for they

made it that way

with their childish

consistent

harassment of said

person. Maybe?

Consider the

source, then ask

yourself if he did

all that to me? I’d

POWERBALL JACKPOT

SWELLS TO $1.4 BILLION

Disappointed you didn't win the Powerball

jackpot this weekend? Don't be.

"Biggest jackpot in the history of the world.

Absolutely confirmed," Lottery executive

director Gary Grief said. Lottery officials say

the prize has now swelled to an estimated

$1.4 billion — the world's largest. Ever.

The jackpot is so big that billboards around

the country have to advertise the price as

$999 million because they're not built to

show billions. The lottery computers will

handle the decimal point without a problem.

The odds to win are one in 292.2 million.

Seventy-five percent of all the possible

combinations were purchased before Sat.'s

drawing, Grief said, and he expects that

enough tickets will be sold to cover about 80

percent by Wednesday. About 95 percent of

Powerball tickets have computer-generated

numbers.

Use whatever combination of numbers you

feel may be Lucky, this will put you on

Forbe’s list of one of the Most wealthiest

people in the USA.

Good Luck to all who enters.

Page 4: January 14, 2016 Edition

Mass shootings and the accompanying carnage have now become a

regular part of life in America. And mental health experts warn that this

steady drumbeat of violence could have major consequences for the

nation's psyche. There have been 355 mass shootings in the United

States so far this year -- defined as incidents in which four or more

victims were shot, though not necessarily killed, according to Shooting-

Tracker.com, a crowd-sourced website that monitors U.S. gun violence.

That amounts to more mass shootings than days passed this year, far

more than any other nation on Earth. And most of these horrific epi-

sodes fail to make national headlines. For example, the bloodbath in San

Bernardino, Calif., that left 14 people dead and 21 wounded occurred

just hours after a shooting in Savannah, Ga., in which four people were

shot and one died. But the psychological impact is starting to take a

measurable toll, experts say. "I think people are becoming more aware

that these things are happening much more frequently," the college that

in 2007 experienced a mass shooting that left 32 dead and 17 wounded.

"The nation is going to become more anxious and more fearful and more

uncertain as this goes on. It has a cascading effect,".

On 20 separate days this year, there were at least four mass shootings

somewhere in the nation. Acts of violence have become so common that

people now know many of them by name -- Planned Parenthood in

Colorado Springs, Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, Columbine. Many

Americans have been left numb by the violence, and that's a normal

human reaction, said Jonathan Alpert, a New York City psychotherapist

and author of "Be Fearless: Change Your Life in 28 Days.""That's how

we protect ourselves from trauma," Alpert said. "We put up defenses.

We put up barriers. We disconnect." Some people will go into denial --

desensitized by the brutality. But, many others will become emotionally

overwhelmed by the gun violence.

"When denial starts to lift, it can be a very confusing and anxiety-

provoking time because the rational part of one's mind is struggling with

the emotional part that doesn't want to hear the truth,". Some people

may become isolated homebodies as their world view continues to be

shaken. "People can become very fearful and apprehensive,". "Maybe

the world isn't fair. Maybe the world is totally unpredictable, and I'm at

risk for some very bad things happening. They start avoiding people,

places and things that remind them of bad things that have happened, or

things that potentially could happen."

Others might become angry and determined, and see the ongoing vio-

lence as a call to action -- even if they aren't exactly sure what they can

do. Those struggling to cope with these violent events would do well to

remember that it's still very unlikely that you or yours will become

directly involved in a shooting. However, taking precautions not be near

a lot of people is good, the scene may become too over whelming.

Know what to look for, look at the faces around you, if they are not

pleasant. I would suggest to excuse yourself from the situation. We all

see what is going on, some of you who don’t, may be harmed by the

lack of judgment into being safe.

Noticing where you are and those

around you should be taught to chil-

dren as is. Many Adults need to re-

member what may be lurking

amongst us. Being responsible for

your safety is not a fear, it’s reality.

In announcing his campaign, Anderson

Healthmark names first Employee

of the Month for 2016 By Ron Kelley

One of the components of Healthmark Regional

Medical Center’s Employee of the Month designa-

tion is that it often shines a spotlight on staff mem-

bers that are generally not seen by patients or visi-

tors, but who perform vital tasks that contribute to

the overall smooth operations of the hospital. So it

is with Healthmark’s first Employee of the Month

for 2016.

Debra Ard, accord-

ing to Medical Record

Director Diana Brox-

son, “is in Utilization

Review and is not a

‘spotlight’ kind of

person. She arrives

bright and early to

meet Dr. James How-

ell as he makes his

early rounds. She com-

piles all his hospital

patient records, charts

and keeps everything

in good order. She has

performed these duties

for other physicians,

too.”

Broxson also said that Debra Ard reviews audits

and that her “skill in being able to extract pertinent

information out of a medical record deserves recog-

nition on its own.” Ms. Ard assists with discharge

planning, helps get patients ready to go home or, if

needed, placed in other facilities. Broxson described

her as “always pleasant and easy to work with.”

Healthmark Chief of Operations Gerald Beard

agreed with that assessment. “Debra is a marvelous

employee,” he said. “She does her job with grace

and efficiency, knows what needs to be done and

does it without fanfare. Debra is one of those people

who help ‘smooth out the wrinkles’ and is one of

the unsung heroes of this hospital. We’re proud to

have her on the Healthmark team.”

HEALTHMARK CHIEF of

Operations Gerald Beard

presents Debra Ard with a

certificate recognizing her

as the Employee of the

Month for January 2016.

Healthmark Health Matters News about pneumonia

Pneumonia is an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs. The air

sacs may fill with fluid, causing cough with phlegm, fever, chills, and difficulty

breathing. According to researchers at Mayo Clinic, a variety of organisms,

including bacteria, viruses and fungi, can cause pneumonia.

Pneumonia can range in seriousness from mild to life-threatening and is most

serious for infants, young children, people older than age 65, and people with

health problems or weakened immune systems. For older adults and people with

heart failure or chronic lung problems, pneumonia can quickly become a life-

threatening condition.

The signs and symptoms of pneumonia vary from mild to severe, depending on

factors such as the type of germ causing the infection, and the person’s age and

overall health. Mild signs and symptoms often are similar to those of a cold or flu,

but they last longer.

Signs and symptoms of pneumonia usually include fever, sweating and shaking

chills, as well as a cough, which may produce phlegm, chest pain, shortness of

breath, fatigue and nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.

Treatment for pneumonia involves curing the infection and preventing

complications. People who have community-acquired pneumonia usually can be

treated at home with medication. Although most symptoms ease in a few days or

weeks, the feeling of tiredness can persist for a month or more.

Specific treatments depend on the type and severity of the illness and can include

antibiotics to treat bacterial pneumonia, aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen.

Cough medicine may be used to calm a cough so a person can rest, but because

coughing helps loosen and move fluid from the lungs, it is a good idea not to

eliminate the cough completely.

Hospitalization may be required if a person’s blood pressure drops, breathing is

rapid and the body temperature is below normal or the heart rate is below 50 or

higher than 100. If diagnosed with pneumonia, get plenty of rest. Don't go back to

school or work until after your temperature returns to normal. Be careful not to

overdo it, because pneumonia can recur. Drink plenty of fluids and take the entire

course of any medications a physician prescribes. Stopping the medication too soon

may allow the lungs to harbor bacteria that can multiply and cause pneumonia to

recur.

To help prevent pneumonia, get vaccinated and

do not smoke. Smoking damages the lungs'

natural defenses against respiratory infections.

BREAKING: US sailors in custody after US Navy

vessels seized by Iran amid fears of sea war

THE Pentagon has confirmed Iran has captured two of

their vessels after they strayed into Iranian territorial

waters. t comes amid fears of an impending conflict

between the two countries after worrying footage was

released of Iranian vessels firing rockets near US

warships in its waters.

The US is furious at recent Iranian missile tests that

threaten Europe.

The incident comes as the US navy sources said it could ramp up its presence in the

Mediterranean seas to take on warships belonging to Iran's alley, Russia, which are

based in Syria.

Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said it had lost contact with the vessels as they moved

through the Gulf between Kuwait and Bahrain, according to Associated Press.

At least 10 US sailors are in the custody of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces after

at one vessel strayed into Iranian territorial waters. The servicemen are being held on

Farsi Island. Mr Cook said: "We have been in contact with Iran and have received as-

surances that the crew and the vessels will be returned promptly."

This is a small island in the Persian Gulf where the Iranian military have a base.

A senior US official told CNN contact was last with the two small US naval craft sail-

ing from Kuwait to Bahrain.

He said: "We subsequently have been in communication with Iranian authorities, who

have informed us of the safety and well-being of our personnel."

"We're aware. We're working on it and we hope to resolve

the situation," Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rho-

des said. The embarrassing incident echoes one in 2004

where Royal Navy sailors were seized by the Iranian armed

forces. Fifteen of our sailors were detained by Iranian au-

thorities in waters dividing Iran from Iraq and later released

amid a stand off between the UK and Iran.

Editor,

I have a question and maybe you can reply. I over heard

some folks down in Black Creek store saying that you

write and conspire to cause issues no one wants to hear. I

told the guy to ‘get a life’. People that are jealous that you

have survived as long as you have.

I remember them calling you an outsider back then. Not

wanting to help you grow. I call BS to those in this small

town. I’ve seen these guys before and it upsets me to see

low-life people trying to cause you to fail.

Your tenacity in your writings make this a rare find and

we love it!

Tom & Becky Phillips

Dear Editor,

I am wondering if the people I hear talking about your

E-mails sent in. Do you research to some degree before

you print it? And I think it is amusing to talk with a few

people thinking that it is all sent in by one or two people?

I feel that if you read into anything written in this paper

and think it is about you and you only? Seriously?

I know as a Fact that your e-mails weekly are many and

sent in from around the county by readers. I witnessed you

working through hundreds of E-mails as you try to answer

each one sent in.

To think that someone feels so guilty that what they do

they think you only print what you want to deal with. Set

the record straight, for those immature minded folks

around Freeport thinking they are solely targeted by you.

That’s a joke, you have dealt with hundreds of stories and

comments over the last 7yrs. We appreciate your honesty

and being forthright in what you feel. Keep up the good

work you do for us who live here.

Sincerely, Mr. & Mrs. Varner-Westville

Thank you for stating that fact for me. As you know I

receive thousands of E-mails sent in yearly. I print what I

feel is something that may need to be addressed by the

shear #’s of readers comments I have. Yes, I hear the same

thing when a ‘Hot Topic’ arises. Silly, (guilty minds).

Flirty teacher spends night in

hotel room with schoolboy

A TEACHER spent the night with a year 11 pupil

after a raunchy school prom romance. Rebecca

Lacey, 28, was "over-familiar" with the student

throughout the night before inviting him back to

her hotel room and dropping him off at home the

next morning.

A professional conduct panel heard that Lacey, an

ICT teacher at Downend School in Bristol, admit-

ted behaving inappropriately at the prom on June

26 2014. She allowed the "vulnerable" teenager,

known as "Pupil A", and other students to hug her

goodbye and even danced with the 15 and 16-year

-olds, letting them put their hands around her

waist.

Lacey invited Pupil A to her hotel room but

claimed she was concerned for his "safety and

wellbeing''."She was aware that he was a vulner-

able student and he appeared to be in a bad state

of mind on the evening of the prom.

"He was being influenced by other pupils to drink

alcohol and take drugs after the prom event.

"Her motivation was to keep him safe from harm

and she was worried that if he left the prom event

with the pupils who were influencing him that

something terrible may have happened to him."

It is not alleged there was any sexual activity

between her and Pupil A. Misconduct or not?

Literacy Week By Rian Lyday

“Literacy is a bridge from misery to

hope.” —Kofi Annan

Obviously, if you are reading this, you understand the

importance of words and expanding our world though

literacy. Literacy Week in Florida is coming up, January 25

to the 29th. Many of the local schools will be participating by

doing various activities involving literacy and showing

students why reading is important. If you have time, as

members of our small community, volunteer at one of the

schools during this week or donate a few books to our

schools or libraries. The written word is not nearly

appreciated as much as it was when I was in school and as

we know, books take us places we may not ever have the

opportunity to visit in person. I found some simple activities

for you all to do with children you influence in order to

share with them how much wonder can be found through

reading.

Read to your child: Even adults like to be read to sometimes - so try not

to grow out of the habit of reading to your kids!

Listen to audio books too: These days it is easy to get hold of audio books for

some of the best children's stories - either through

your library or bookshops online and offline.

Provide a good selection: Times have moved on and there is a huge selection

of children's literature out there and easily available

now.

Fiction v. non-fiction: Your child may not be a fiction lover, but don't

despair. Reading any well-written book is an

achievement - and you can get a lot of good

information and practice off the back of a cereal

packet in the mornings!

Reading time: Older kids can enjoy having a set "Reading Time"

when everybody in the family - no exceptions -

finds a comfortable place on a favorite chair or sofa

and reads.

Keep a record: Sometimes keeping a record can make reading

more fun - for all ages. You could buy each child a

special notebook in which to record all the books

they have read, and any thoughts they have on

them.

Provide bookmarks: Reading can be made much more fun for kids by

simple providing an appropriate bookmark.

Hunt for second-hand books: Specialized children's bookshops are becoming

harder to find, although there are still some gems

out there that should be supported as much as

possible.
