ST. VINCENT de PAUL The St. Lucie Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society thanks all who have supported our efforts to help and provide for the needy in our area. Because of your financial and spiritual aid this past year, we were able to provide shelter, utility assistance, food, furniture and clothing to 758 clients. We are especially grateful to Fr. Mark for graciously supplying the envelopes in the pews. Consequently, there has been a marked increase in donations. Affordable housing and the decrease in food stamp benefits continue to plague our area residents. Your continued generosity and compassion to our clients is much appreciated. When using SVdP pew envelopes please MAKE CHECKS OUT TO “ST. LUCIE CATHOLIC CHURCH”

2015 Mass Intentions

AVAILABLE BEGINNING WEDNESDAY,

JANUARY 15, 2014 Announced Mass Intentions for the year 2015 will be available beginning Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 8:30 AM in the parish office located at 425 SW Irving Street. The office opens at 8:30 AM. Intentions will be available until 4:15 PM. (Monday through Friday). An “announced” Mass intention means the Mass you select will have a specific date and time in the year 2014 and will be celebrated here at St. Lucie Parish. We do the best to have this intention published in the Sunday bulletin. Requests for Mass Intentions will not be taken by phone. In fairness, service will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. In order to expedite your requests, there will be envelopes for available Masses in 2014. These envelopes will be placed in boxes according to dates and times. One individual at a time will have the opportunity to pull envelopes of their choice, complete the required information by clearly printing the information requested, and return it to the front desk. Donations are $15.00 per Mass Intention. In fairness to all, families are limited to no more than eight intentions but are welcome to return after thirty days for the remainder of your mass selections. (Checks should be made payable to St. Lucie Catholic Church). Keep in mind that “unannounced” Mass Intentions are always available. “Unannounced” means that a Mass will be celebrated for your loved one but the date and time cannot be made available. One of our priests, a mission, or retired priest is given unannounced Mass Intentions to celebrate at his own discretion. Your donation is also given to the priest celebrating your Mass. We ask for your patience since the process of booking “Mass Intentions” can be a lengthy one. We look forward to serving you. Thank you!

FLAMINGO FLOCKING FUNDRAISER

Flock a friend to celebrate their birthday,

anniversary, or any achievement.

St. Lucie Youth Group is doing a “fundraiser” in which a “flock” of plastic flamingos will travel from yard to yard. We will drop a flock off to various houses within our church community and place them in the front yard after dusk. Some of these locations have been requested by friend(s) of the recipient with a donation made to the Youth Ministry to help with their retreat expenses. The flamingo closest to the recipient’s front door will have further instructions. The flocking is done in good spirits and is not meant to be mean. If you discover that our flock has landed on your front lawn please do not hurt our feathered pink friends. We can assure you that the flamingos will roost on your lawn until the following evening when they will migrate to another lawn. Thank you for your sense of humor and your support. Questions? Phone Loretta Barnes at 772-418-0811 to schedule your flocking or catch the Youth Ministry in the Rotunda next weekend after Masses! You will have the opportunity to send a special message with the flock. ANNUAL DIOCESAN ANNIVERSARY MASS

¡Aceptamos donaciones monetarias!
