Q: Does God abandon us when we sin?

A: Never. God is always calling us, pleading with us, to return to him and his ways. (CCC 27, 55,

982)

Q: Can any sin, no matter how serious, be forgiven?

A: Yes, any sin, no matter how serious or how many times committed can be forgiven because

of God’s mercy towards us. (982)

Q: How do we experience God’s mercy?

A: We experience God’s mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We also experience his mercy

through the kindness, generosity, and compassion of other people. God’s mercy always draws

us closer to him. We can be instruments of God’s mercy by exercising the works of mercy with

kindness, generosity, and compassion.

Jesus appeared to St. Faustina in 1931 and taught her this prayer. Try
