WOLFPACK January/February Issue FRG NEWSLETTER 2012 he unit will redeploy this calendar year. Yep, we’re already at that point in the deployment. We’re also well started into 2012. I am glad to note that January was nice and quiet. And that the holidays have come and gone for another year. Because things have been so quiet January has met with February for this issue of the newsletter. And the bulk of it will be focused on where to find information to keep you in the loop. This issue will be filled with notes from Karen Foshee the TF Wolfpack FRSA; a spotlight on our volunteers; upcoming events to watch for; links to Facebook pages for the Battalion, the Brigade and the Division. It will also include our focus website for the month - a resource you may not yet be familiar with to lift you up as you move through 2012. So a belated Happy New Year to all! We wish for you all the very best this year! Stay well. s we move through the deployment different opportunities to hear from the

Forward Commands have presented themselves. Another opportunity is coming up near the end of February.

As it has been presented to us, please review the following information and respond accordingly if you would like to attend:

All Family Members of 82nd

Combat Aviation Brigade:

On 21 February, COL Jamison is available for an FRG open discussion to answer any questions or concerns you may have. COL Jamison will be at Ft. Bragg on R&R during that time.

The tentative location is the Brigade Classroom (N+4 room) Annex Building A-1981 Longstreet Road.

The time is 10:00am - 12:00 noon.

Immediately following the open forum will be a Brigade Steering Committee

meeting.

Please RSVP by February 14th to Karen Foshee at 910-643-7594 or [email protected] if you plan on attending.

If you have specific questions that you would like to have addressed by COL Jamison, please forward them on or before February 14th, by email to Carleen Meckenstock, the Brigade FRSA, at:

[email protected]

It is important, if you want to attend, that you RSVP. Adjustments will be made to the location depending upon how the numbers of attendees look. No one wants it to be too crowded for comfort or have standing room only.

Thank you in advance for attending!

For all TF Spouses and families...

A

The next Spouses of Deployed Troopers retreat is now open for registration. If you are interested in attending, please contact our FRSA, Karen Foshee immediately to

find out how to receive and submit your registration. These retreats are a great opportunity to meet other CAB spouses and discuss strategies for coping with the

deployment. It is also a great chance to just get away for a weekend!

A website/Facebook page I recently linked into is The Frugal Find. They overwhelm me at times with the shear number of notifications they send and post... but in this day of working to make a dollar stretch just that little bit farther... they are worth hitting the delete button a few extra times for the things that I’m able to save on!! Check them out at:

Running for the Pack...

A number of Wolfpack spouses have registered to run on behalf of the pack at the upcoming USO of NC 4th Annual Run for the Troops 5K at the end of March. If you are interested in joining in, please contact [email protected] to find out more.

You can also just register to run, without joining in, by going to:

FRSA Foshee Findsappy New Year WOLFPACK Family!!

I hope everyone had a joyous and safe holiday. December 9th, we had our holiday party in the BN Classroom. Many families came out with their children and had a great time. I would like to give Rear D a big THANK YOU for their contribution in making our holiday party a HUGE success!! Our very own SSG Brinkerhoff dressed up as Santa Claus and rode in on his motorcycle and the kids loved it! SPC Harkness and SPC Baker built the Santa chair from scratch and it looks nice! We had a chili cook-off which was a success as well.

For the month of January, your FRSA scheduled a financial class on how to budget and save money. This class was a huge success! We had over twenty

people sign up. What better time to give this class being that it’s Tax season. This class was beneficial for both our spouses and soldiers.

We also had an Iron Mike Award recipient Katherine Wong who received her pin on Thursday, January 26. Congratulations Katherine, we appreciate all your hard work!

For the month of February, your FRSA is featuring a Health and Awareness class scheduled on February, 29 where spouses and soldiers can receive a free assessment. I leave with you one of my famous recipes of the day.

Thank you.

If you have an idea for a gathering, get in touch with your FRG Leader. If you are not sure who your FRG Leader is, give our FRSA a call, Karen Foshee, at 910-643-7594 and she will link you up!

Do not hesitate to get in touch or to share!!
