James Augustine Aloysius Joyce

(2 February 1882 13 January 1941) was an Irish novelist and poet, considered to be one of the most influential writers in the modernist avant-garde of the early 20th century.

James Joyces best known work is Ulysses, a landmark work in the world literature. Therere more than 260.000 words in the novel.

James Joyce wrote Ulysses in the period of 1914-1921.He spent at least 20.000 hours writing it.

Ulysses focuses on one day of the life of Leopold Bloom June 16th , 1904. This day is now celebrated by J.Joyces fans all over the world as Bloomsday.
