Biography

Edgar Poe was born on 19 January 1809 in Boston, Massachusetts. He made many stories, like the Masque of The Red Death. He also made many poems like Annabel Lee. Edgar Allan Poe had lived a sad life. Everyone he loved had died of the disease tuberculosis. He made many stories and poetry. He married his first cousin even though she was only barley 13 and he 26. They loved each other greatly. But then she fell sick with tuberculosis, and was soon going to die. At some points it looked as if she was getting better, but then fell even sicker. Then she died, another person Poe was close to stricken dead by tuberculosis.

Edgar went to Boston and joined the U.S. Army in 1827 when he was 18. He attained the rank of sergeant major while he was in the army. In 1829 Mrs. Allan died and John Allan signed his application to West Point. He didn’t stay long because John Allan wouldn't give him money. In 1831 he went to New York where he published the first of his poetry.

My Theory On Poe's Death.

My theory on Poe’s death was his drinking and his brain damage all together. I think this because the drinking could have had a serious part in it because he drank too much. And the brain damage could have been slowly killing him from the start or he could have hit it really hard while he was drunk and damaged him.

My Favorite story by PoeMy favorite story by Poe is The Cask of Amontillado because it is interesting and not boring. I also think its cool because it had a lot of suspense in it. . .

. . . I also liked it because of how odd it was. Like how Fortunato got chained in the hole in the wall then trapped in and died.

Conclusion.

He is like the “father of modern day horror” because he had many things a horror story has today. And yes I did have a connection because I have had family members die too. Yes, I liked his stories because they weren't boring and they were interesting.
