EVENT OVERVIEWThe Jamaica Epicurean Escape is an annual event that celebrates excellence in Jamaica’s food, music and culture. This two-day event showcases the most celebrated chefs in Jamaica along with the young and upcoming who have stood out among the rest in their field. It infuses the food culture with that of music, art and craft creating a unique family .

ECNONOMIC IMPACT: The scope of the festival to impact the local and national economy is unequalled, as it creates the opportunity for rentals and sales of equipment and services in the event industry that is unequalled. In its first year the event injected over $25,000,000 into the food, beverage and event services industries by virtue of products and services that had to be used at the event.

GRIZZLY’ PLANTATION COVE: The ideal location for such an event. It provides the relevant infrastructure, security, parking and some of the most picturesque and beautiful surroundings in Jamaica. Its position in the centre of the North Coast on the highway makes it easily accessible from one end of the island to another.

Additionally, it is only minutes away from over 6,000 rooms to accommodate tourists.

The Jamaica Epicurean Escape will now be one of four official events presented by Grizzly’s Plantation Cove. As such it has gained a permanent home fully equipped with needed infrastructure which in turn will reduce costs, and will also allow it to be included in the year round marketing activities of the Cove.

FEATURED GUESTS: In 2012 the Festival featured some of Jamaica’s finest including Chef Ravi Anne, Chef Dennis McIntosh, Chef Theo Smith, Chef Daniel Schwietzer, Chef Christopher Evans and many more. Artists included Sharon Fox-Mould, Phillip Supersaad, among others and our performers included Tessanne Chin, Chronixx, and Pluto Shervington to name a few. Our International guests included Chef Ted Reader from Canada, Chef Pamela from Panama, and our special guest performer was the legendary Ms. Patti Labelle.

In 2013 we expect to feature even more Jamaican and International celebrity chefs and we plan to extend our offering of international menus as well as offer an even wider variety of Jamaican Gourmet food. We expect to announce our line-up of chefs, artists, and performers by August.

DATE: NOVEMBER 2 & 3, 2013

LOCATION: GRIZZLY’S PLANTATION COVE, PRIORY, ST ANN (FORMERLY RICHMOND ESTATE)

EVENT OVERVIEW ACTIVITIESSPECIAL ACTIVITIES: We have designed an enhanced programme for 2013.

Our main presentation will again feature over 40 chefs and food stations showcasing Jamaican, International and Fusion menus. One major difference in 2013 is that while we will still offer an Ultra VIP experience option, the majority of food stations will be accessible to both VIP and general patrons thus allowing everyone to have a truly epicurean experience.

THE GRAND FEAST: One new element will be our Grand Feast which will feature a dine-in seated restaurant in which we will offer a formal five-course meal exquisitely prepared by a cadre of top-class chefs. The Grand Feast will take place between 4pm to 7 pm each day. Tickets will be sold separately for this activity however persons who wish to enjoy this experience will be able to purchase a package ticket or a limited number of upgrades will be available on-site.

JEE EXPO: A mini Expo featuring catering and banqueting supplies will be added to the experience. This will allow patrons to peruse professional and state-of-the-art equipment and supplies relating to the culinary industry. It will offer exhibitors a very key and prime target market at a time of year that persons are preparing to spend for the Christmas season.

JEE ON SHOW: The excellent reviews received regarding our entertainment and concert performances in 2012 has encouraged us to place more

focus in the area. Once again we will interweave the cultural and traditional with the modern and contemporary. Jamaica Epicurean Escape will be used as a platform to showcase young and upcoming talent and will also showcase established performers.

GLOBAL RIDDIMS: A showcase concert series for the Grizzly’s Plantation Cove Venue will be launched at The Jamaican Epicurean Escape

CHEF DEMONSTRATIONS: The Chef demos of 2012 were well received and this has encouraged us to place a greater emphasis on these activities which will be promoted well in advance as highlights of the days’ events.

SEMINARS: The seminars held in 2012 were also a hit with patrons and so will also be given more prominence in our advertising and promotions. Schedules will be promoted in all advertising as well as on our website and other digital affiliations.

YOUTH VILLAGE: This area was so popular in 2012 that parents could not get their children to leave. Professionally staffed and run by Rainbowland, the youth village provided a fun-filled secure environment for children to relax and play. They even had visits by celebrities Tony the Tiger and the Pillbury Doughboy. The Youth Village will definitely be repeated in 2013 and with enhanced features. Also to be managed by Rainbowland.
