A new paper on Economics (EN) is added to JAM from 2021 onwards. JAM scores will be used for admission to M.Sc. (Two years), Masters in Economics (Two years), Joint M.Sc.‐Ph.D., M.Sc.‐Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.‐M.S. (Research)/ Ph. D. Dual Degree and other Post‐Bachelor Degree programmes at IlTs (Bhilai, Bhubaneshwar, Bombay, Delhi, (ISM) Dhanbad, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Palakkad, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Tirupati and (BHU) Varanasi) for the Academic Session 2021‐22. JAM score will be used by llSc Bangalore for admission to Integrated Ph.D. programmes. JAM score will also be used by other centrally funded technical institutions such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET Punjab, and IISERs for admission to their programmes. However, qualifying in JAM does not guarantee either admission to postgraduate programs or any scholarship/ financial assistance. STRUCTURE AND MODE OF JAM 2021 JAM 2021 examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in ONLINE mode only. A candidate can appear for either one test paper or two test papers by paying an additional fee for the second test paper. Candidates opting to appear for two test papers must ensure that they do not choose test papers that are scheduled in the same session. JAM 2021 JOINT ADMISSION PROCEDURE Admissions to various academic programmes at IITs for the Academic Session 2021‐22 shall be made based on the All India merit list of JAM 2021. After the declaration of JAM 2021 results, qualified candidates should apply online at JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) through the Organizing Institute (IISc Bangalore) specifying preferences for the programmes of their interest. Further details regarding admission, prescribed fees, etc. are available on the JAM 2021 website. Reservation policy is applicable as per the Government of India norms. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT AND MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (MEQ) FOR ADMISSION In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding‐off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates (If CGPA/CPI is on a different scale, it would be linearly mapped to a 10-point scale). Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the required eligibility as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by September 30, 2021. Highlights of JAM 2021

IISc Bangalore is the Organizing Institute for JAM 2021.

JAM 2021 Examination will be conducted ONLINE only as a Computer Based Test

(CBT) for all Test Papers.

JAM 2021 will have seven Test Papers, namely, (i) Biotechnology (BT), (ii)

Chemistry (CY), (iii) Economics (EN), (iv) Geology (GG), (v) Mathematics

(MA), (vi) Mathematical Sciences (MS) and (vii) Physics (PH).

Economics (EN) paper is added newly this year.

All the seven Test Papers of JAM 2021 will be of entirely objective type, with three

different patterns of questions, namely (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii)

Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

Applications will be accepted ONLINE only through JAM 2021 website.

No hardcopies of documents are to be sent to the Organizing Institute. The applicable

documents are to be uploaded online to the application website only.

No hardcopy of the JAM 2021 scorecard will be sent to the JAM 2021 qualified

candidates by the Organizing Institute. It can only be downloaded from JAM 2021

website within a specified period.

NO additional requirements, such as suitability test or interview, are needed for

admission to the Masters programmes under JAM.

Integrated Ph.D. programmes in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical

Sciences and Biological Sciences at IISc Bangalore will use the JAM results to

shortlist candidates for the final selection.
