The Flamenco Kids are here!Flamenco KidsFlamenco KitsWhat do you mean by kits? Kids, in English we call children KIDSOh kids, as children in English, of courseThat’s itLet’s go 1, 2, 3Flamenco KidsFlamenco ChildrenFlamencoKids

Do you know where the Flamenco Kids live?In QuillolandiaWhat colour is the sky?BlueAnd the sand?WhiteAnd the sea?Silver

THE JALINTROActually, there are also some small rocks made of coral and incrusted shells. If you look out on the horizon, you’ll see a long line that seems to cut through the sea. These are the coral reefs (the corals), a stretch made of corals, sea shells, sand and rocks lined up one after the other. When the tide is high, the glistening sea covers them. When the tide is low, at some point on this line a pool will appear, made of sea water and emerald green reflections. This is where the Jalintro is (the Jalintro), the school of the Flamenco Kids. In the morning, they gather there to invent games and start a new adventure every day– the adventure of growing up.

Come on, come onTo the Jalintro, to the JalintroCause I’d like to composeWith a keyboard and its introFull of small letters, Numbers and notesAnd the colours I want to learn, To make Andrés dance without concern.

In the Jalintro, there is a cone pepper with millions of things inside that help us to find ideas, catch dreams and invent stories, in short, with everything we need in order to create what we can possibly imagine. You will also find rocks where plasticine is stored, pencil cases and screws, shiny stars and boxes full of colours. And there are books, many books, full of words and images that tell us about life.At sunrise, the Flamenco Kids meet at the Jalintro: Grabi, the colour blind chameleon; Andrés, the dancing sea urchin; Lola, the toothless seabream; Luis, the octopus singer-songwriter; Daniel, the gloomy baby shrimp, who hides behind his orange alga; Don Pedro, the lightfoot crab, with some of his hats; and Orséa, the anemone, always clinging

BLIEFTto her rock. You already met all of them, but now a new friend has arrived: Blieft.

Children: Blieft? Who is Blieft? Blieft is an eel who came from another world and stayed in Quillo-landia. She has a tattoo on her skin and doesn’t speak Spanish. Would you like me to tell you some more things about Blieft?

Children: Yes, please… yes!

Blieft is an eelMethodical and kind,She came to QuillolandiaWith no idea in mind. She found fiestas and some fun,Another language for her to learn,A seambream, who was spot onAnd many lights to be switched on.

ChorusI am Blieft

You are GrabiHe is AndrésShe is LolaWe are Flamenco Kids

In her nose two holes And her body full of electrons To switch on some lights And millions of bulbs

ChorusI’m BlieftYou’re GrabiHe is AndrésShe is LolaWe’re Flamenco Kids

She illuminates toys Makes engines startAnd tickles us In our heart (2 x)

We are Flamenco Kids

Page 4: JALINTRO flamenco by kids_eng.pdf · 2015. 2. 12. · presents COZY TIME s.l. c/Jazm n 42, 28033 Madrid. Spain. B-85876423 FR]\WLPHVO#JPDLO FRP ÁDPHQFRNLGV#JPDLO FRP Tel.: +34 649

The tide is already turning. The light is golden (like the life that shines). See if you can find the line of rocks and corals in the sea. Does anyone spot the Jalintro? Children: Over there!!!!!

Where, where?

Children: There!!!!

Run across the sand, dress yourselves with water and salt because we’re now going to enter the school.

Good morning, Flamenco Kids

Children: Good morning, teacher

What are you inventing, blending, creating and debating?

Children: Blieft is teaching us English. She says it’s very funny and keeps repeating:

ENGLISH IS EASYIt is easy, you see,To speak EnglishFlamenco Kids

It is easy, you see,To speak EnglishFlamenco Kids (2 x)

If you hear a sneeze And you jot down how it sounds You will find out that in the endIn English it’s the same, my friend. If you sneeze it’sTo sneezeIf you cough it’sTo coughIf you splash it’sTo splashListen to the raindrops fall Bouncing back like rubber balls Let’s try to conjugate, you all.

I splash Yo salpicoYou splash Tu salpicasHe splashes El salpicaShe splashes Ella salpicaWe splash Nosotros salpicamosYou splash Vosotros salpicaisThey splash Ellos salpican

Splash, splash, splash

It´s easy you see To speak English, Flamenco Kids (2 x)

To clap, dear child, means to applaudPut your hands together or your pawsAnd you’ll hear a clap, clapWe can now start to playIf we do the clap, clapWe’ll have some fun, I’m sure to say For our hands when they bang together Make a beautiful sound, and that is cleverAs it helps us when we sing aloud Do you dare conjugate, right now?

I clap, yo aplaudoYou clap tu aplaudesHe claps él aplaudeShe claps ella aplaudeWe clap nosotros aplaudimosYou clap vosotros aplaudísThey clap ellos aplauden

To clap, to clap, to clap

It’s easy you see to speak in english Flamenco Kids (2 x)

And now it’s your turn To find the meaning Hiccup means hiccoughCrash, something breaks with a blow To slap is to smackTo tap, what Andrés doesClip clap is a horseClick, click, snap your fingers To knock on the door, who’s there?Step aside, for here comes Andrés.

I splash Yo salpicoYou splash Tu salpicasHe splashes él salpicaShe splashes Ella salpicaWe splash Nosotros salpicamosYou splash Vosotros salpicáisThey splash Ellos salpican

I clap yo aplaudoYou clap tu aplaudesHe claps él aplaudeShe claps ella aplaudeWe clap nosotros aplaudimosYou clap vosotros aplaudísThey clap ellos aplauden

Andrés is the one who really knows about numbers. He learns them, so he can dance. Come on, you little rascals, shall we teach Blieft the numbers in Spanish? She can then show us how to count in other languages.

Niños: Sí, yes, oui, jai.

Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diezGreat, and now in EnglishIn English? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, tenAlright, and now in FrenchIn French?OuiUn, Deux, Trois, Quatre, Cinq, Six, Sept, Huit, Neuf, Dix Excellent, and now in JapaneseWhat do you mean, now in Japanese?jaiichi, ni, san, shi, go, roku, shichi, hachi, kyu, juVery well, and how are you?Well, well, well, well, weeeeell

MULTIPLYI’m going to tell you something you just won’t believe. I was once small, too.

When I was little My mum said to me Don’t sit on the sand As we’re going to dance And my dad asked me to ponder What’s an even number?2, 4, 6And an odd number now1, 3, 5Come on, children, let’s count.

We finally know to count from one to ten We can also add up numbers,Subtract and multiply themAnd even find out That fifteen is odd And fourteen is even With the beat of our stance They don’t stop to dance.

chorusTo multiply numbers You just add them up Trust your hands And the sum of the summands If they are the same The result you’ve got readyOf how many ice-creams you’ve eaten already.

I multiply smiles Made of water and paper For three times two are six That’s two plus two plus twoI’ll remember that well, will you?One two one two one two This is how Andrés countsTo stay on his feet When he dances around.

chorusTo multiply numbers You just add them up Trust your hands And the sum of the summands If they are the same The result you’ve got readyOf how many ice-creams you’ve eaten already. (2 x)

THE DRAWING AND THE WORDSLook, there comes Lola. What does she carry? Let’s see, let’s see …… I can’t make it out very well. Grabi, could you please lend me one of your glasses? She has pencil cases! And beach ball rackets!

Now I do know how to draw With words imagine a pathOn which we can walk And I draw thistles Imagine gardenias or a whistle And the water for the flowers,And the water for the flowersGently tickles my fins with showers, And my fins are arching up To play with you

For the beach ball cup.Don’t forget you must play Though maths is now here to stay You will surely find your way And I draw thistles Imagine gardenias or a whistle And the water for the flowers,And the water for the flowersGently tickles my fins with showers, And my fins are arching up To play with you For the beach ball cup.

THE STUTTEROh! She says she wants to play beach ball.Oh, you can’t? You don’t have beach ball rackets? It’s true, you’re toothless. And now what?Lola wants us to listen carefully and to try to guess which sound belongs to whom or what. Attention please.

A tweet, tweet BirdA meow, meowCatA woof, woofDogA broom, broomAnd that’s it,A car.

Why?Why? Why?I don’t understand whyIf I say to you tweet, tweetAll you do is just repeat

Tweet, tweetBut without tone and trill How boring, no thrillThat this is a bird, I already know,What did you think? No matter what you think. You first have to learn how to chirp,Before flying off like a bird. Say birdBirdOtherwise I’m off-beat.Tweet, tweetA bird it will beIf I say woof, woofAnswer dog For the woof gives me troubleAnd I don’t like to learn double. The onomatopoeia woofIs no answer to that proofIt’s only the double that causes me trouble And that’s why tweet, tweetIs a bird, nice and sweetAnd woof, woofIs a dog, that’s enough.

I know it’s not “shhh”It’s the light, you see,That you shine on me I know it’s neither meow

Nor is it broomIt’s a catAnd a carAnd that is the truth.

chorusI know it’s not woofBut rather a dogNor is it tweet, tweetI swear it wasn’t me.And now let’s repeatLight, cat, car, bird, dogThis is how you learn a lotLight, cat, car, bird, dogWell, this is how I really learnIn spite of my accent, no concern.

JUANILLO THE SEA SNAIL Juanillo is a snailThough he looks a little pale As underwater is where you’ll find him Because he says that he can swim.Juanillo is a land snailBelow the sea is where he sets sail With his friend, the sea snailAnd his circular shell. His friend’s house, neverthelessIs triangular, what a messFor that’s what he is looking for,A triangular shell, nothing less.

Into an ice-cream cone he crawled To make himself a comfy home It felt like living in a dome Until the wobbly thing dissolved.

A kind Red Indian once he met Who lend him his tipi, yes, you bet, But far too big was the Indian tent, So he said thanks and off he went.

He began to feel quite ill Thinking hard gave him a chillHe simply couldn’t find that shellA triangle for him to dwell.

And the sea snail to him said I’m giving a party, you’ll be glad, To find you a home, once and for all A triangular shell you can install.

So they made a lot of lanterns Yellow cakes, all very modern And some hats with glittery things One for Juanillo, the size of kings.

And on his circular shell, on top The pretty hat came to a stop As though it was a magic trickHis home was solid as a brick.

Oh, Juanillo, how good to see You’re snug and happy as can be With your triangular new home Under the sea is where you roam.

Surely, Don Pedro has helped them to make those hats!!!!

Lola is very happy playing with you and she’d like to tell you the latest tale she has written, the one about Juanillo, the sea snail. Juanillo, the sea snail, is a snail who doesn’t put out its horns. But he does put them out underwater, because he says that he can swim. Juanillo is a land snail, and his friends are sea snails. His shell is circular, and the ones of his friends are triangular. Juanillo wants to live in a triangular shell, too. Will he ever find one?

LULLABY FOR CARLOSAnd now we’re going to relax a little. Let’s ask Luis to sing us one of granny Teresa’s lullabies.Yes, Luis, please, please!

Would you sing us the one that goes “Oh, lulla, lullay, my child of gold, I sing to you from the depth of my soul.

Oh, lulla, lullay, my child of goldI sing to youFrom the depth of my soul. And my love so true, Sleeps right beside you, Newborn child,Gracious face of alabaster Heavenly eyes that shine For with your smiles You make the dreams of mine.

Dear child of my love! When flowers look at you they’ll bring A thousand songs that they will sing.Lulla, lullay. Light of my life,You fill my days with blissful chimes.Oh, lulla, lullay, sweet lullaby! Morning star that shines so bright,Sleep peacefully all through the night,Go, sleep softly, gentle heart,And close your dreamy eyes With the softness of my voice,And the fairy moon above,With its light of golden blue,Through the window shines on you.

And a last lullaby with a tremolo dedicated to all of you who are just discovering that growing up is real fun.

Lullaby of my sweet child,Lullaby, my hope and joy Hidden among clouds no few Golden angels sing to you.

My little sweetheart, fall asleepSnug in the softness of your bed,My purest love that all consolesWas made with tiny pieces of my soul.

My king of kings, my love that stays,My morning sun of every day,As with your eyes so full of lightOur dawns were made, shiny and bright.

Oh, lullaby of my sweet child!Oh dear lullaby of mine!

Cherubim rock you to sleep,And archangels spread out your sheet.

And your eyes already close,Get peaceful rest and off you doze,With the moon shining aboveSnug in your bed,All cuddled up.

Sweet dreams,Flamenco Kids
