Along with being an important part of Colombia’s financial industry, Jaime Gilinski has also made an impact on the country’s healthcare system.
Colombian banker Jaime Gilinski is one of the past owners of Banco de Colombia. His purchase and sale of this institution ranks as one of the most noteworthy transactions in the country’s history.

La Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá was founded in 1972 to provide for the highest ethical, scientific and technological quality of healthcare in Colombia.
Jaime and his father Isaac Gilinski are among the foundation’s largest contributors. They donated US $8 million through the 1990’s. This was during Jaime Gilinski’s ownership of Banco de Colombia.
In 1972, La Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá started the University Hospital of Santa Fe in Bogotá.

The hospital is regarded as Colombia’s most technologically-advanced.
Colombia’s first liver transplant in 1988, and has performed 100 since.
Performed the first heart transplant in Bogotá.
Also serves as a teaching hospital for doctors and staff.
