The girls try their hands and feet at Tae-Bo. while the boys work out with wrestling and basketball. It's all in a PE day at Jackson.

The intramural program at Jackson offers some after­school activities as varied as indoor soccer, basket­ball , volleyball , hockey and a climbing wall . The pro­gram is designed for stu­dents who want to try dif­ferent sports , but may not want to go out for a team.

Music classes at Jackson are

Ms. Steele strikes a musical pose on the field trip that all the participants loved. Music students had spent time prior to the trip listening to and analyzing the music in Fantasia 2000.

It was a great year for the band and orchestra. Ms. Steele took a record num­ber of string players to the Regional Orchestra. Both band and strings had the annual Winter PT A Concert and are preparing for a spring performance. The fu­ture looks bright. A large number of sixth graders signed up for strings.

Mill Mountain Playhouse performed their urban update of the Shakespeare classic for an appreciative audience. It was followed by a chat session to answer student questions.

Ms. Karr's Drama Club also worked on an updated ver­sion of the play for its spring production. The cast includ­ed Amber Lang, LaKeisha Murray, Courtney Dooley, Keesha Terry, Jamie Bar­ton, Kara Gettings, Jamie Pickard, Candice Frye, Kym Durham, David Neighbors, Jacob Lamb, Justin Hall , Jessie Sink.
