Friday...Jacksons only triumph in this series came by a 12-4 margin Wednesday...James Gillheeney, Jacksons latest left-handed starter, is scheduled to pitch against Montgomery right-hander Austin Pruitt in the series finale.

Versus Montgomery: Montgomery leads this 20-game season series, 5-4...In late April, Jackson ral-lied for three straight wins to finish a five-game road series at Montgomery...The Biscuits won the first two games by scores of 7-4 and 3-2 before the Generals claimed wins of 5-4, 7-6 (10 inn.) and 4-3 at Riverwalk Stadium...Saturdays game represent the final first-half meeting in this series...Jackson will host another five-game series from July 22 to 26 while Montgomery hosts the final meetings from August 23 to 27.

May Flowers for Offense: After a sluggish offensive stretch in April, the Generals have come alive during the month of May...Jackson has hit 14 more home runs (18 to 4), increased its team batting average by 50 points (.270 to .220) and boosted its OPS by a whopping 182 points (.769 to .587) from last month to this month...Naturally, scoring has increased with this offensive surge as Jackson is averaging 4.97 runs/game in May compared to 3.32 per contest in April...Jackson has also been more efficient at stealing bases this month with a success rate of .920 (23-of-25) in May (.833 (15-of-18) last month).

Walking Tall: Jackson is closely trailing the Tennessee Smokies for the league lead in total walks drawn...The Generals are in second place with 188 bases on balls, just six behind Tennessees 194...In its last series at Pensacola, Jackson collected 33 total walks, receiving five consecutive walks during the sixth inning of the series opener on May 21...Infielder Tyler Smith has a team-high 30 walks, which is third in the league behind Tennessees Kyle Schwarber (35) and Dan Vogelbach (32)...Smith also tops Jackson with a .405 on-base percentage and also already recorded a pair of 11-game on-base streaks.

Back-to-Back Jabari Blasts: Jabari Blash, Jacksons team leader in home runs, became the first General to homer in back-to-back games with solo shots Wednesday and Thursday...Blash leads Jackson with nine home runs in 106 plate appearances (24 games) while the rest of the Generals have a combined 13 clouts over 1728 plate appearances...He is currently tied with Chattanooga Lookout and major Minnesota Twins prospect Miguel Sano for third place in the Southern League with nine homers...Blash trails a pair of other highly-touted prospects in Chattanooga Lookout Adam Brett Walker II (12) and Tennessee Smoky Kyle Schwarber (10).

Gunned Down by Guerrero: Gabriel Guerrero tied the Southern League lead in outfield assists Thursday when he helped Jackson record a double play off a sacrifice fly...Currently, he is tied with Biloxi Shucker Michael Reed and Montgomery Biscuit Boog Powell for second with seven total outfield assists (Chattanooga Look-out Byron Buxton had a league-best eight through May 30)...A natural right fielder, Guerrero has posted five of his assists from center field, including three outfield assists this week alone (May 25 at Pensacola, Jesse Winker at home; May 26 vs. Montgomery, Cameron Seitzer at second; May 28 vs. Montgomery, Justin OConner at second).

PAO!: Dan Paolinis interesting week continued with Thursdays performance against the Biscuits...Paolini lined a 3-0 pitch from Rays prospect Blake Snell into left field during the seventh inning, an RBI single that gave Jackson a one-run lead at the time and extended his on-base streak to 16 straight games...This streak has been narrowly increased this week with one-hit outputs in each game of this series and a walk during Mondays series finale at Pensacola...On Tuesday, Paolini also made his professional pitching debut and even picked up one strikeout.
