Pulizia e MantenimentoCleaning and Maintenance

L’aria, i bagnanti e l’ambiente circostante (alberi,

insetti, ecc.) introducono costantemente impurità

nell’acqua della Spa.

Queste impurità intorbidiscono l’acqua e si

trasformano in alimento per batteri e alghe.

E’ necessario perciò eliminarle con l’ausilio di un

adeguato impianto di fi ltrazione.

L’eliminazione dei corpuscoli e delle particelle in

sospensione si ottiene facendo passare l’acqua

contenuta nella vasca attraverso un fi ltro, che

può essere di due tipologie:

- Sabbia quarzifera

- Fibre sintetiche (cartucce)

In funzione della qualità dell’acqua, della frequenza

d’uso della Spa, della quantità di impurità presenti

in acqua, i fi ltri tendono progressivamente ad

intasarsi ed a diminuire di effi cienza. In queste

condizioni, si ha una progressiva riduzione della

quantità d’acqua fi ltrata ed è possibile che l’acqua

della Spa intorbidisca; questo è un chiaro segnale

che bisogna pulire o sostituire i fi ltri.

La pulizia dei fi ltri a sabbia viene effettuata con

un’operazione di controlavaggio che richiede

conoscenze tecniche specifi che; saltuariamente

(di norma ogni 3-4 anni, ma comunque quando

diventano troppo frequenti i controlavaggi)

bisogna cambiare la sabbia nel fi ltro.

Il controllo e la pulizia dei fi ltri a cartuccia

dipende dalle modalità d’uso della Spa, dalla

qualità dell’acqua e da tanti altri fattori; in ogni

caso il controllo va fatto almeno ogni settimana.

La pulizia può essere effettuata con normale

acqua corrente, se le impurità fi ltrate non sono

entrate in profondità, o con l’ausilio di prodotti

specifi ci (vedi punto 1.8), in presenza di depositi

di calcare o sostanze oleose. Quando il tessuto

del fi ltro comincia ad evidenziare un degrado,

o comunque quando la pulizia non ne ripristina

l’effi cienza, bisogna sostituire il fi ltro.

The air, bathers and the surrounding environment

(trees, insects, etc.) constantly add impurities to

the Spa water.

These impurities soil the water and become food

for bacteria and algae.

This is why it is necessary to remove them by

means of a suitable fi ltering system.

The fl oating particles are eliminated by making

the water in the hot tub fl ow through a fi lter that

can be one of two types:

- Quartz sand

- Synthetic fi bres (cartridges)

Depending on the quality of the water, on how

often the spa is used and on the quantity of

impurities in the water, the fi lters tend to slowly

clog up and become less effi cient. In these

conditions there is a progressive reduction of the

quality of the fi ltered water and the Spa water

may cloud over. This is a clear sign that the fi lter

must be cleaned or replaced.

Sand fi lters are cleaned by means of a backwash

operation that requires specifi c technical expertise;

occasionally (usually every 3-4 years, or when

backwashing is required too often) the sand in

the fi lter must be replaced.

Cartridge fi lters are checked and cleaned

depending on how the Spa is used, on the quality

of the water and on many other factors. In any

case it must be checked at least once a week.

It can be cleaned using normal tap water if the

fi ltered impurities are not too deeply embedded,

or by using specifi c products (see point 1.8) if

there are limescale deposits or oily substances.

When the fi lter fabric shows signs of wear or when

cleaning the fi lter does not restore its effi ciency, it

must be replaced.

DisinfezioneDisinfection

Qualunque sia la tecnica di fi ltrazione adottata,

gran parte dei microrganismi non viene trattenuta

e l’acqua della Spa, quindi, potrebbe non essere

perfetta igienicamente; si dovrà perciò prevedere

sempre un trattamento chimico di disinfezione

dell’acqua.

Oltre che sterile, l’acqua della Spa deve

essere anche sterilizzante, cioè contenere una

percentuale di disinfettante libero in grado di

neutralizzare istantaneamente le possibili fonti di

inquinamento.

I disinfettanti comunemente usati per il

trattamento dell’acqua sono il cloro, il bromo e

l’ossigeno attivo; la soluzione ideale per le Spa

usate a livello familiare è quella dell’ossigeno

attivo, che offre diversi vantaggi.

L’Ossigeno Attivo garantisce la massima effi cacia

della disinfezione grazie alle sue proprietà

ossidanti e ristabilisce molto velocemente la

pulizia e la trasparenza dell’acqua: dopo 15 minuti,

l’impianto è pronto all’uso. È un disinfettante

effi cace anche con valori di pH non ottimali, non

ha odori sgradevoli e non è irritante, poiché non

contiene cloro, aldeidi e alcool, e non infl uisce

sulla durezza dell’acqua.

La soluzione proposta da Jacuzzi® consiste

nell’utilizzo di pastiglie a lenta solubilità, che

consentono di mantenere un buon livello di

ossigeno libero in acqua per lungo tempo. Il

livello minimo di ossigeno libero deve essere

mantenuto tra 1,5 e 3 mg/l.

Il prodotto di riferimento commercializzato da

Jacuzzi®, per tale operazione, è ActiWater O+.

Whatever the fi ltering technique used, most of

the micro organisms do not end up in the fi lter

and the Spa water may not be perfectly hygienic.

Therefore, it will always be necessary to use a

chemical water disinfecting treatment.

As well as being sterile, the Spa water must also

be sterilising, i.e. it must contain a percentage

of disinfectant capable of instantly neutralising

possible sources of pollution.

Disinfectants normally used to treat water are

chlorine, bromine and active oxygen; the ideal

solution for family Spas is active oxygen because

it offers many advantages.

Active Oxygen ensures maximum disinfecting

effi ciency thanks to its oxidising properties by

means of which it quickly cleans and clears water.

Just 15 minutes are required for the system to be

ready to use again. It is effi cient even if the pH

values are not ideal, it does not smell and is not

an irritant because it does not contain chlorine,

aldehyde or alcohol and it does not alter the

water hardness.

Jacuzzi® suggests the use of slow-melting tablets

that release a good quantity of free oxygen in the

water over a long period of time. The minimum

level of free oxygen must be kept between 1,5

and 3 mg/l.

The active oxygen product marketed by Jacuzzi®

is ActiWater O+.

Controlli analiticiAnalytical tests

Il pH è il parametro che indica l’acidità, o la

basicità dell’acqua.

Per garantire la massima effi cienza dell’agente

disinfettante ed una buona qualità dell’acqua

della Spa, bisogna mantenere il valore del pH

dell’acqua tra 7.2 e 7.6.

E’ buona norma controllare sempre il pH

dell’acqua, ed eventualmente regolarlo, prima

di introdurre l’agente disinfettante; il controllo

deve essere comunque effettuato almeno una

volta la settimana, servendosi di un apposito

tester di controllo.

Lo strumento proposto da Jacuzzi®, per

controllare il livello residuo di ossigeno attivo

(vedi punto 1.2) ed il pH dell’acqua della Spa,

è TESTER OXYGEN and pH. Con questo

strumento, il controllo dei suddetti valori risulterà

molto facile e nel contempo preciso.

The pH value is the parameter that indicates how

acid or basic the water is.

To ensure maximum effi ciency of the disinfectant

and a good Spa water quality the pH value of the

water must be between 7.2 and 7.6.

It is a good idea to always check the pH value of

the water and adjust it, if necessary, before adding

the disinfectant. It must however be checked once

a week by using a tester.

The product offered by Jacuzzi®, to check the

residual quantity of active oxygen (see point 1.2)

and the pH value of the Spa water is TESTER

OXYGEN and pH. This product checks these

values easily and accurately.

Quando il valore del pH non rientra nel range

descritto al punto 1.3, si possono usare prodotti

chimici appositamente realizzati per “correggere”

il pH dell’acqua.

Molteplici possono essere i fattori che alterano il

valore del pH all’interno di una Spa.

I principali sono:

- La qualità dell’acqua usata per il riempimento

della Spa;

- L’utilizzo di particolari additivi a carattere basico

o acido;

- Le particelle introdotte con l’uso della Spa

(prodotti solari, sudore, creme, ecc.).

E’ quindi opportuno intervenire con un “correttore

di pH”, quando necessario, per riportare i

parametri medi entro il range 7.2 - 7.6.

Il prodotto di riferimento per tale operazione,

proposto da Jacuzzi®, è ActiWater pH+ &

ActiWater pH-.

When the pH value is not within the range

described at point 1.3, chemical products

designed specifi cally to correct the pH value of

the water can be used.

Many factors alter the pH value of the

Spa water.

The main ones are:

- The quality of the water used to fi ll the Spa;

- The use of special alkaline or acid additives;

- The particles that get into the Spa during use

(suntan lotions, sweat, cream, etc.).

It is thus a good idea to use a pH adjuster, when

necessary, to bring the average parameters back

between 7.2 - 7.6.

The product offered by Jacuzzi® to this aim is

ActiWater pH+ & ActiWater pH-.

AntialgheAnti-algae treatment

Le alghe sono organismi unicellulari che possono

proliferare rapidamente nell’acqua, soprattutto

quando l’acqua è calda.

Le spore delle alghe entrano normalmente

nell’acqua della Spa attraverso il vento, la

pioggia ecc., ma anche l’essere umano può

essere portatore di spore e quindi anche le Spa

collocate al coperto possono essere soggette ad

un problema di alghe.

Se nell’acqua della Spa si sono formate alghe è

opportuno intervenire immediatamente, poiché,

più a lungo rimangono presenti, tanto più diffi cile

sarà poi eliminarle.

Si consiglia di immettere almeno una volta la

settimana un prodotto antialghe nell’acqua

della Spa, in più punti, per completare l’azione

disinfettante dell’ossigeno.

Il prodotto di riferimento per tale operazione,

proposto da Jacuzzi®, è ActiWater Clear.

Algae are unicellular organisms that can quickly

proliferate in water, especially if it is warm.

Algae spores usually enter the Spa water through

wind, rain, etc. Even human beings can be spore

carriers so Spas installed indoors can also be

subject to algae problems.

It is a good idea to intervene immediately if there

is algae in the Spa water because the longer you

wait, the more diffi cult it will be to eliminate.

It is advisable to add an anti-algae product in

various spots of your Spa water at least one

a week to complete the disinfecting action of

the oxygen.

The product offered by Jacuzzi® for this operation

is ActiWater Clear.

AntischiumaDefoaming agent

Qualora venga introdotto nella Spa un prodotto

schiumogeno (oli essenziali, detergenti ecc.), o che

in ogni caso si formi della schiuma in superfi cie,

si può trattare l’acqua con un prodotto a base

siliconica in grado di bloccare la formazione di

schiuma ed eliminare quella già presente in vasca.

Per questa operazione Jacuzzi® consiglia il

prodotto ActiWater NoFoam.

If a foaming substance is added to the Spa water

(essential oils, detergents etc.), or if foam forms

on the surface, the water can be treated using

a silicone-based product capable of stopping the

formation of foam and eliminating the existing

foam in the hot tub.

For this operation Jacuzzi® suggests ActiWater

NoFoam.

Il calcare è un minerale disciolto nell’acqua sotto

forma di sale minerale: il carbonato di calcio

(CaCO3). La quantità di carbonato di calcio

determina la durezza dell’acqua.

Con l’aumento della temperatura dell’acqua,

il carbonato di calcio tende a ricomporsi e a

depositarsi sulle superfi ci (depositi calcarei).

Per limitare questo fenomeno è indispensabile

utilizzare un prodotto specifi co come l’ActiWater

NoKal proposto da Jacuzzi®. Trattasi di un

potente anticalcare che contribuisce a rendere

l’acqua cristallina, ad eliminare i grassi di origine

corporea ed eliminare i metalli disciolti in acqua.

Limescale is a mineral dissolved in water in the

form of a mineral salt called calcium carbonate

(CaCO3). The quantity of calcium carbonate

determines the hardness of the water.

As the water temperature increases, calcium

carbonate tends to recompose and deposit on the

surface (limescale deposits). To keep limescale to

a minimum it is indispensable to use a specifi c

product such as ActiWater NoKal marketed by

Jacuzzi®. This is a very strong limescale inhibitor

that contributes towards clearing the water

eliminating body grease and the metals dissolved

in water.

Filter CleanFilter Clean

Lo scopo principale di un fi ltro è quello di

trattenere le impurità ed i residui organici presenti

nell’acqua, garantendo l’igiene e la qualità

dell’acqua stessa; è fondamentale pertanto

garantire la perfetta effi cienza degli apparati

fi ltranti con una adeguata manutenzione.

Jacuzzi® propone il prodotto ActiWater Filter

Clean, specifi co per la pulizia periodica di fi ltri

a quarzo o a cartuccia e dotato di eccezionali

proprietà disincrostanti e sgrassanti; esso

esercita inoltre un’azione sanifi cante e previene

la formazione di sacche batteriche.

The main aim of a fi lter is to retain the impurities

and the organic particles in the water to ensure

water hygiene and quality. Thus, it is fundamental

to guarantee the perfect effi ciency of fi ltering

agents by proper maintenance.

Jacuzzi® suggests the ActiWater Filter Clean

product that has been specifi cally developed to

periodically clean quartz or cartridge fi lters and

that has exceptional scale-solvent and degreasing

properties; it also has a sanitising action and

prevents the formation of bacteria pockets.

Le indicazioni d’uso e i dosaggi consigliati nelle istruzioni allegate ai

prodotti sono puramente indicativi e possono variare sensibilmente

in funzione delle modalità d’uso della Spa.

I valori suggeriti possono infatti variare a seconda di:

- quante persone utilizzano la vasca;

- tempo di permanenza all’interno della vasca;

- tempo di fi ltrazione dell’acqua e tipologia di fi ltro (a cartuccia o a sabbia);

- temperatura di esercizio dell’acqua;

- frequenza di svuotamento della vasca;

- vasca scoperta (installata all’aperto), o vasca collocata in ambiente chiuso.

The instructions for use and the doses indicated in the instructions

enclosed with the products are purely indicative and can vary

greatly depending on how the Spa is used.

The suggested values may vary depending on:

- the quantity of people using the hot tub;

- how long people stay in the hot tub;

- water fi ltering time and the type of fi lter (cartridge or sand);

- water operating temperature;

- hot tub emptying frequency;

- whether the not tub is installed outdoors or indoors.

ACQUA TORBIDA

L’acqua della Spa può perdere la sua trasparenza per varie cause:

- Filtrazione insuffi ciente.

Trattamento: controllare il fi ltro, pulirlo accuratamente ed aumentare

le ore di fi ltrazione.

- pH alto.

Trattamento: analizzare il pH e regolarlo con gli opportuni correttivi

per mantenerlo nei valori di pH compresi tra 7.2 e 7.6.

- Eccesso di residui organici (oli solari, sudore, ecc.).

Trattamento: eseguire una disinfezione d’urto.

- Formazione di alghe.

Trattamento: consultare il paragrafo 1.5 Antialghe.

Con l’impianto di fi ltrazione fermo, eseguire una disinfezione d’urto.

CLOUDY WATER

Your Spa water can become cloudy for various reasons:

- Insuffi cient fi ltering

Treatment: check the fi lter, clean it accurately and increase the fi ltering

hours.

- High pH value

Treatment: read the pH value and adjust it by using suitable products

to maintain it within 7.2 and 7.6.

- Excess of organic substances (suntan oils, sweat, etc.)

Treatment: carry out a shock disinfecting treatment.

- Formation of algae

Treatment: consult paragraph 1.5 - Anti-algae treatment.

Stop the fi ltering system and carry out a shock disinfecting treatment.

ACQUA COLORATA

La colorazione dell’acqua può essere di diversi tipi:

- Acqua verde trasparente: l’alcalinità totale dell’acqua (TA) è bassa.

Trattamento: rivolgersi a tecnici specializzati per analizzare ed

aggiustare l’alcalinità dell’acqua. In alternativa svuotare la Spa e

ricaricarla con acqua “fresca”.

- Acqua verde torbida: presenza di alghe.

Trattamento: consultare il paragrafo 1.5 Antialghe.

- Acqua marrone: presenza di fango e manganese nell’acqua.

Trattamento: regolare il pH tra 7.2 e 7.6.

Eseguire una disinfezione d’urto.

COLOURED WATER

The water can take on various hues:

- Transparent green water: the total water alkalinity (TA) is low.

Treatment: contact special ised technicians to analyse and

adjust water alkal inity. Alternatively, empty the hot tub and

add fresh water.

- Cloudy green water: indicates presence of algae.

Treatment: consult paragraph 1.5 - Anti-algae treatment.

- Brown water: presence of mud and manganese in the water.

Treatment: adjust the pH value to between 7.2 and 7.6.

Carry out a shock disinfecting treatment.

Nelle Spa Jacuzzi® è arrivata l’aromaterapia! Le

pastiglie create per essere inserite nel diffusore di

essenze, contengono una fragranza durevole che

viene rilasciata nell’aria quando l’acqua permea

la pastiglia. 5 le deliziose essenze disponibili:

eucalyptusmint, lavenderfi elds, hawaiianblue,
