the Plenary Hall into Board Room A, with interpretation into the six official languages of the
United Nations.
DRAFT RESOLUTIONS: The deadline for submission of draft resolutions by Members of the Commission had been set for
Monday, 16 April 2018, at noon. Any revisions of officially distributed draft resolutions must be incorporated into the final
edited texts. For this purpose, sponsors are requested to obtain the final electronic Word documents from the Secretariat
(office M0122). Revisions must be clearly marked, using the track change mode. States wishing to co-sponsor draft
resolutions may sign the respective signing sheets, which are available from the Secretariat (office M0122).
JOURNAL: The journal of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice is distributed every morning. It contains
the agenda for the day and various announcements. Delegations wishing to include an announcement should contact Ms. Jo
Dedeyne-Amann, Secretary of the Commission, extensions 27266/4282.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. A list of offices and telephones in the M-Building during the 27th session of the Commission on Crime
Prevention and Criminal Justice is annexed to this Journal.
Texts of written statements
2. Delegates who will deliver statements are requested to supply them in advance to the Secretariat to the
Governing Bodies, preferably by e-mail to: [email protected], or alternatively, provide 10 hard copies to the Secretariat
to the Governing Bodies, room M0122. A minimum of 200 copies should be provided to the Secretariat if delegations
wish to have their statements distributed to States and organizations attending the session of the Commission.
Documents distribution counter
3. At the documents distribution counter located outside the Plenary Hall on the first floor in the M-building, each
delegation will be assigned an individual “pigeonhole” in which official documents issued during the meeting will be
placed.
4. As part of the Secretariat’s efforts to reduce expenditure and limit environmental impact through the digitization
of conference materials and publications, only a limited number of pre-session documents will be available at the
session venue. Each delegation will receive a single, complete set of the documents in the language of its choice.
Delegates are therefore kindly requested to bring their own copies of the pre-session documents to the meeting.
5. A Journal will set forth the daily programme and other information related to the conduct of the session and will
be available in English and French at the distribution counter.
Languages of the twenty-seventh session of the Commission
6. The official languages of the meeting are the six official languages of the United Nations: Arabic, Chinese,
English, French, Russian and Spanish. Official documents of the meeting will be made available in all six official
languages.

8. In submitting the request, Member States are reminded to include the date, time and proposed duration of the
meeting.
Delegates’ working areas and wireless network connection
9. Wireless connectivity is available everywhere in the M-Building. Delegates’ working areas (“cyber corners”)
with desktop computers equipped with standard software and Internet access will be located on the ground floor of
the M-Building.
Photocopying services
10. The Secretariat is not in a position to provide photocopying services for delegations.
Conference rooms
11. Each seat in the conference rooms in the M-Building of the Vienna International Centre for which simultaneous
interpretation is available will be equipped with a portable receiving set and headphone. Participants are requested not
to remove that equipment from the meeting rooms so that it may be checked periodically and the batteries recharged
if necessary.
Use of mobile phones
12. Conference participants are kindly requested to keep their cellular telephones switched off inside conference
rooms, as they cause radio frequency interference in the sound system, adversely affecting the sound quality of
interpretation and the recording of proceedings.

Travel settlement
13. Representatives of States members of the Commission who received the funded ticket from the United Nations
are kindly requested to present their boarding passes to the Secretariat to the Governing Bodies (Room M0123).
List of participants
14. Delegations are kindly requested to submit corrections and additions to the list of participants in writing to the
Secretariat to the Governing Bodies (M0123).
Commissary privileges
15. Commissary passes will be issued upon completion of registration formalities to the following participants:
(i) Heads of Government delegations;
(ii) Professional staff members of specialized agencies;
(iii) All staff members of the United Nations assigned to the Commission from duty stations other
than Vienna.
Catering services
16. A cafeteria, a restaurant and a bar are located on the ground floor of the F-Building. The restaurant is open from
11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. (reservations are recommended, e-mail: [email protected]). The cafeteria is open from
7.30 to 10 a.m. and from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. The coffee area in the cafeteria is open from 7.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
The delegate lounges in the M-Building (M0E) and C-Building (C07) are open from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The Quattro
Uno Delegates Lounge in C04 is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Private luncheons and receptions at the Vienna
International Centre can be arranged by contacting the catering operations office (e-mail: [email protected]).

Travel services
17. American Express (room number C0E01) is available to participants requiring assistance with travel, car rentals,
sightseeing and excursions. The office is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Banks
18. Banking service is available at the branch of Bank Austria, located on the first floor of the
C-Building. Opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from
9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Thursdays.
Postal services, telephones and faxes
19. Postal services are available at the post office located on the first floor of the C-Building. Faxes can be sent from
the post office.
First Aid
20. Medical attention is available from the clinic operated by the Joint Medical Services located at the Vienna
International Centre, F-Building, seventh floor (ext. 22224 and, for emergencies, ext. 22222). The clinic is open from
8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. On Thursdays the clinic closes at 3 p.m. For emergency assistance at other times, please contact
staff in the Security Duty Office (room F0E21, ext. 3903).
21. The pharmacy is located on the 7th floor of F-building (room F0709) and is open from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Monday to Friday.
Access to the VIC
22. Participants arriving at the Vienna International Centre by taxi are advised to get off in the side lane
(Nebenfahrbahn) of Wagramer Strasse, register at Gate 1, walk across Memorial Plaza, proceed to entrance “A” and
follow the signs to M-Building. Participants arriving by metro (U1 line) should get off at the “Kaisermühlen/Vienna
International Centre” station, follow the signs marked “Vienna International Centre”, register at Gate 1, walk across
Memorial Plaza and proceed to entrance “A”.
23. There are no parking facilities for conference participants, except for Permanent Mission delegates in possession
of a valid parking permit.

Security
24. During the twenty-seventh session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, from 14 to
18 May 2018, the Austrian authorities will be responsible for security outside the premises of the Vienna
International Centre. The United Nations Security and Safety Service will be responsible for security inside the
Vienna International Centre. Specific requests regarding security arrangements and related matters should be

25. For security reasons, conference participants are requested not to leave luggage, briefcases or laptops
unattended.
Lost and found
26. Inquiries for any items that are reported lost within the VIC premises should be made at the UNSSS Security
Operations Centre, room F0E18 (opposite the VIC Cafeteria). Telephone extension is 3903.
Emergency reporting
27. All emergency situations within the VIC should be reported directly through extension 99.
Online posting
28. The VIC Online Services allows participants convenient access to documentation, including the agenda and
programme of work, the meetings programme, the schedule of special events, and information for participants
regarding facilities and services available in the VIC. During the meeting, the application will be available through
participants’ mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs at the following Internet address page of the United
Nations Office at Vienna:

29. The VIC Online Services application is designed to facilitate the distribution of documents and meetings
information more broadly during the conference, while helping to reduce paper use.
UNODC Social Media Zone
30. During the 27th Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, there will be a social
media zone located on the ground floor of the M-Building. The zone will provide an opportunity for the online global
community to join the conversation (#CCPCJ27) about criminal justice responses to prevent and counter crime in all
its forms.The programme will include a limited number of live streaming events such as interviews, discussions with
